As with all my NX speculation threads, assume the following:
- The NX home console is at PS4.8 level of hardware power
- The NX home console comes with a reasonably 'normal' controller, with Nintendo not overboard with gimmicks
- The NX home console will get third party support and multiplatform games
- The NX home console will come with a reasonable online network- whether or not there is a paid option, it will have all the standard options that an online network should have in this day and age
Okay, given all of this- how much would you be willing to pay for the Nintendo NX at launch? Is the price non negotiable? Would it go up or down based on other factors, such as online games, specific games being available, power being more, etc?
Personally, I think the ideal price for a console as described above should retail for $349- it's a good price, just a little above the Xbox One and the PS4 (which is also reflected in its hardware power- a PS4.8 should be one and a half times stronger than a PS4, and almost twice as strong as an Xbox One). For a system that was actually 'proper,' that would be a price I would be gladly willing to pay.
Higher than that, and Nintendo is committing financial suicide. Nobody will pay that much for a Nintendo system.
