I like that one too? Who's your main character?

Street Fighter all the way! I actually thought of mentioning he original PS Battle Arena Toshinden games, which I loved, but honestly were simply Street Fighter in 3d.

I'm a street fighter man myself. Even now with Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, it's one of the most balanced fighters in the industry if not the most balanced. It also has the range of depth to back up years of dedicated play.

Well, the Xbox One takes the cake in sheer brute force -- it weighs more than any other fighter -- but the Playstation 2 has that awesome self-destruct "disc read error" move, where it expels shards of shrapnel into every other enemy... But if we're talking the strongest character --

The Sony fanboy or the Microsoft fanboy are the two most powerful characters. They have the moves "blindness" and "stubbornness" that, when used, make them absolutely immune to every move in the game. A lot of fights don't really get anywhere... There's just a big pissing contest...

Haha, no. Developers didn't want individual fanboys to think they're important.

Street Fighter, #TeamAdon :D

I don't really like 3D fighters that much anymore but Tekken will always hold a special place too, T3 made me a fan forever.

DOA or SC for me

i like a lot of 3d fighting games and killer instinct (enjoyed old sf games but these new ones are a bit much now), but the best has to be tekken. easy to get into, but to master it is very difficult.

Tekken

I lived and breathed that franchise in the 90's and early 2000's. My mall had a Namco Time-Out that sponsored Tekken tournaments (TTT era).

Then I moved to another state and it really is true that without proper human competition fighting games get old quick.

Well, since no one has replied to this thread in a few days, I'll just go ahead and announce Street Fighter as the winner.

Street Fighter: A franchise so great that it can overcome being developed a corporation universally hated on this forum and be voted as best fighting series.

Honorable mentions since SF only twenty-three percent of the vote:

Tekken
Super Smash Brothers

#66 Edited by Demonjoe93 (9696 posts) -

Final standings as of this post:

  1. Street Fighter (14)
  2. Tekken; Super Smash Brothers (13)
  3. Mortal Kombat (6)
  4. SoulCalibur/Soul Blade (4)
  5. Capcom vs. games; BlazBlue (2)
  6. Virtua Fighter; Killer Instinct; Dead or Alive; Guilty Gear; Power Stone; WWE; Other* (1)

*Whoever voted other, feel free to say what the game it was you voted for.

For me, it's always been Soul Calibur because I love fighting with the different weapons. Maxi, Mitsurugi & Kilik are my favorite characters to use.

1, Soul Calibur

2. Virtua Fighter

3. Streeet Fighter

4. Dead or Alive

5. Capcom vs

6. Tekken

7. Guilty Gear

8. Mortal Kombat

9. BlazBlue

10, Super Smash Bros.

I don't care much for any SNK fighting game. Their animation had been horrendous for most of the early generation. Many of their moves are a pain in the butt to pull off. I still have issue doing certain moves in Fatal Fury. World Heroes 2 is probably my favorite SNK fighting game, but that's not saying much.

i'm not really into fighting games so street fighter and smash bros are my go to. It's cliche but again i'm not really big on fighting games.

Street Figher and then Capcom Vs.

I have a love for Mortal Kombat 3, but the others not so much.
