Not one. Gaming as a whole doesn't seem to understand you can tell a story without a cutscene.

Half-Life changed that.
Recently, I'd say Uncharted 2. Had cutscenes, but the gameplay and the moment-to-moment story were seamless.

Not true. Although there are many problems with the plot of Heavy Rain, that game proved that gameplay and story can be interwoven seamlessly. Other examples I can think of are Metroid Prime 1, Portal, and Braid.
That's a tough question. Metal Gear Solid 4 or Neverwinter Nights, maybe.I'm just wondering what games captured your heart, mind, and soul when you played it and has a perfect harmony of gameplay and story telling?

None this gen for me yet.
As for some older games I would have to say Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Final Fantasy X.
a lot of games for mecampzor
Your sig made me think of Left 4 Dead. That's a perfect harmony of gameplay and story because the moment you start playing you think "Oh, it's the zombie apocalypse and we're survivors." and that's pretty much the entire story. :P

lol, yeah. But I was just sitting there saying "...what?" through the entire ending, so maybe they didn't do it quite perfectly.

But who was that dude in the mask? Did Wander really turn into a colossus/monster? Was the baby him? Was it Ico? How did Agro get to the garden when it was on top of the fricking tower? How did the girl get up there, for that matter? Just WTF.
Heavy Rain, haters gonna hateNot-A-StalkerNot even close btw interactive movies for been around since the 90's (it's the least popular of the Adventure genre). There so many games that do a better job in regards to story telling compared to Heavy rain (not to mention far better writing)

The director never really states what happens, but he did mention that part sets up the misfortunes of Wanders bloodline. (within the Ico universe) I'm sorry I had to erase your post, glitchspot is at it again.Metroid Prime, Portal, Mirror's Edge... that's about it, actually.
EDIT: HOLY CRAP HOW COULD I FORGET MAJORA'S MASK AND SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS!?!?!?!?!?!?

MGS4 is the only true answer to this question. In terms of successfully intertwining excellent gameplay with mind-blowing cinematics and story telling, it's unmatched to this very day. Nothing comes close.

SPOILERRIFIC QUESTIONS
that dude was some kind of shaman or something trying to avoid Wander to do what he did, kinda like some kind of guardian. That demon possesed Wander after the fool killed all the colossi and the shaman guy sealed him away inside Wander, who then became a horny baby. Don't know if he is Ico though, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was. Because Agro kicks ass, that's why!! She got there with... WTF does it matter man?? you just messing with me!!!
Can't argue the Peace Walker comment as I haven't played it unfortunately, but I refuse to believe that a mere handheld title could ever come near MGS4!

PW is the ****, man... if you say you love MGS but haven't played PW, then you're doing it wrong.
So wrong that you don't even deserve to play Vanquish anymore.
