What game series were ruined by this generation?

In my opinion, Splinter Cell and Resident Evil were destroyed.

In principle its such an easy game to get right. 

How did they get it so wrong??

Call of Duty both rose to greatness and fell to blandness this gen.

Resident Evil and Duke Nukem are the other obvious answers.

Halo went downhill a bit with Halo 4.

Gran Turismo, gt5 was nowhere near as great as the previous gt3/4.

3. NFL 2K. There was no installment for this entire generation because of that stunt pulled by EA and the NFL going along with it. I've never seen anything like that before. And people STILL wonder why EA is the worse publisher in the entire industry???
