In terms of AAA open world games what title does MS have to compete with AAA rated Horizon and likely AAA/AAAA rated Zelda:BOTW? Seeing as they cancelled fable and scalebound both which were great looking games Im pretty disappointed in MS's output the past 2 years.

I guess so but it can't go against Horizon and Zelda when it's a multiplat that's also available on the PS4. OP asked what game Xbone has to go against Horizon and Zelda.

The combat in Horizon is getting a lot of praise. The Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games this gen but the combat is definitely the weakest part of it. I doubt Horizon's story will be as good though.
Well, I'm more excited about Sea of Thieves than I am for both Zelda and Horizon so it has that. (I'm still very excited about Zelda as well. Horizon doesn't interest me.)
@NathanDrakeSwag: That's the thing, I can't see Horizon's or Zelda's story/characters being as good as Witcher. The combat is debatable but as a whole package, Witcher still puts up a good fight I think.

I assumed this was a forum about cutting edge news about the platforms we enjoy, and that the metagame and "fanboy war" was killed off just over a year ago. But I guess I could be wrong.

I'm really hoping for a Fable 4. I loved Fable 1 and 2, and while 3 was trash, I always wanted to see a next gen realization of the series. Legends looked really cool, and while I was bummed by its cancellation, it was not what I actually wanted. Hopefully Microsoft pull Fable 4 from their hats this E3.

It's in the same league quality wise without a doubt, the problem is that a comparison between Mario Kart and Forza kind of makes absolutely zero sense in general :/
I love and prefer Mario Kart, but someone who does Forza is not going to turn to Mario Kart for his fix. It's a very different kind of game.

What are you discussing here? You are clearly just trying to troll MS/XBO fans into flaming you. The very least you could have done to inspire actual discussion was mention potential candidates that MS offered or might offer to counter what Sony and Nintendo have currently.

I didn't sell squat. I took it back for a refund. And do you realize that the head of 343 is like the most liberal poster on neogaf? That explains why they turned Master Chief into such a little bitch in Halo 4 that cries over an AI chip girlfriend. Horizon can't be anymore SJW than that.
As far as exclusives/console exclusives are concerned, not much in terms of recent releases. But that would nearly be the equivalent of asking in September "Does Nintendo or Sony have an answer to Forza Horizon 3?" ....no they did not, and they still don't. It's a smart move to be honest, whether intentional or not.... no point in Microsoft releasing a high profile open world game now with 2 big ones coming out so close to each other. Let the dust settle for now, come out with something very underrepresented on consoles.......geez, I don't know, something like an RTS maybe?
I'm not famished for open world games either, I have a shitload of unfinished 3rd party open world games on my plate. I was thinking of tackling the DLC of Sunset OVerdrive soon, one of my favorite open world games in recent years. Horizon Zero dawn looks very good and I hope the fans enjoy it. One day if I pick up a PS4, I certainly would like to play it. But right now I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, my gaming needs are more than adequately covered.
