I think Nintendo is up there. They locked virtual console games behind a pay wall instead of letting people just buy them. There's also the locking stuff behind amiibo. As for ports, I don't mind the remasters for the most part, but at least do the game justice. Super Mario 3D Allstars should've been way better. So there goes my vote. How about you, SW? What company does the most milking in your opinion?

Even if a majority of "hardcore" gamers say Nintendo, does Nintendo even care?

Definitely Nintendo. Of course they built up all this nostalgia through decades of quality games. My teats are primed and ready baby! 😅

Why even ask this question? Nintendo surpasses everyone else by so much that if you name another company you're in denial like Casey.

It's Nintendo. There isn't another answer. However, it works and people are happy to pay them so can't really be that upset about it.

Ubisoft. I am planning to buy rocksmith soon and the amount of dlc is mind blowing. Literally 1500 dlcs worth thousands of dollars for a single game.

Most of them are just one song.

Nintendo hands down, up, left, right and center. I am more annoyed of milking old games than releasing new games based on the same old old IP.

Your logic is flawed. Something being milked does not mean there is no demand. In fact, the demand is what allows for it to be milked in the first place.

Riot Games.

100 dollar skins, need I say more? I could, because this company has always been on the frontier when it comes to gouging and milking their customers.

https://www.pcgamer.com/valorants-first-ultra-skin-set-will-cost-you-a-cool-dollar100/

Edit: With the skin pack containing a few skins being 300 dollars. That is more than half the price of a shiny new Series X or PS5.

Have you guys never met Ubisoft??? They have literally invented the cash shop for single player games, where you can buy progress for real life money, and of course inticised( spelling??) their players to go there by making the game a terrible grind if you just want to play it normally! Ie the second lord of the rings game!

I mean as bad as Nintendo is, it’s usually only their prices that are ridiculous high, the product you get is usually complete!

Do you mean in terms of re-releases to many platforms? I don't think that's a bad thing in of itself.

But they're sneaky with Street Fighter. Notice how your 7th gen SF games haven't carried forwards to let you play your games on a new console: SF2 Hyper Fighting, SSF2T HD Remix and SF3 Online. No doubt Capcom want to keep selling me the same game over and over.

ROCKSTAR.... 3 gens of GTA5, now that crap they are releasing on Switch.

Nintendo & Sony out of the big three console giants. Sony never used to be this bad, but since PS4 they have gone all out with offering more remakes & re-releases than ever....Nintendo are probably worse in that regard, but Sony's game price hike means they edge out Nintendo for top spot.

Ez Nintendo

They've tried selling Mario 64 and Zelda OOT how times now... 64 times?

And now even worse, instead of paying for the game once, you have to pay a yearly subscription.

Piracy isn't the problem, it's Nintendo driving people towards piracy as the only possible alternative that is the problem.

To quote a man much wiser than me:

PS Nintendo: your service sucks!!!

Probably EA.

Nice Nintendo hate boner, dudes. I get the hate, but I don't get why they'd be worse than EA. Nintendo doesn't do the same game all the time, sells it as a new game, and add microtransactions in it on top of that. EA does all of that in abundance all the time, and more. If you want a new and finished game after paying full price in this day and age, the only way to get that is basically buying an indie or a Nintendo game.

Not sure how that isn't worse. Ubisoft seems worse too.

@gym_lion: mehh only game that had a noticeable feature hidden behind an akimbo was the Zelda game with the quick travel feature, otherwise it’s usually just some cosmetic crap or extra life stuff, so no where near the shit Ubisoft pulls!

Yeah, I'd say Nintendo without a doubt, and I can prove it mathematically.

1) There's like, 12 Mario party games and 14 Mario kart games and over 30 Mario platformer games. That's franchise milking more than any other company.

2) They make consumers repurchase the same ported games every gen, half the Switch games are ported Wii U games. That's milking while other companies develop BC and available streaming options.

3) They're the only company in gaming now that locks game features behind plastic toys, twice now, and the feature locked toys are more expensive than the normal cosmetic toys. That's middle finger milking, and no other company does that.

4 ) They've marketed over 30 different overpriced peripherals, from bongos to gloves - most of them only supported for one game then dropped entirely. that's bizarre milking that no other company does.

5) They're the only company in the history of gaming that tried to sell consumers cardboard cutouts for $80.00. cardboard...For $80.00. No other gaming company would even have the sheer audacity to try and milk consumers like that.

In the gaming world, I guess it’s fair to name Nintendo. But in general, the company that milks the global population by far is Saudi Aramco.
