What are your favorite moments of ownage in SW history?

I think the 2013 E3 is one of the all time GOATS. Microsoft announced the Xbox One for $499 and that it would feature online authentication just to play a game. They also wanted us to use Kinect. That was pretty bad. Thankfully Sony saved gaming and let us play and buy games how we want.

How about you, SW? What are your favorite moments of ownage in SW history?

Whem mah boy Cringehog aka @techhog89 burned himself the f*ck up hyping a powerful upgrade for the Switch, and got a Switch OLED instead🤣Not only the best on SW, but the best on any forums.

When all the sheep lost their minds over Twilight Princess getting an 8-something rating out of 10.

When DRM made all the lemmings run off a cliff.

When cows contracted giant enemy crabs.

Yeah MS fumbling that E3 so hard and Sony capitalizing on all of it was the last big one. One of the SW events that actually causes a fanboy faction to rage quit the forum in droves.

8.9 was probably my favorite though. 7.5 was good too, just not nearly as crazy.

Did enjoy the "oh Alyx is good" when it was released after reading all the garbo takes.

Like, most obvious thing in the world, Valve not in the habit of putting out shit.

Going way back, Doom 3 and Nintendo Revolution were pretty hilarious. I was new to SW when Doom 3 dropped, wish I could have seen the leadup for myself.

All those best big moments just can't happen these days. SW now is like showing up to party after last call and they're already flipping the lights on.

Twilight Princess. Imagine the Skyward Sword shit times 1000. That shit spread to every gaming forum, Gamefaqs especially was in flames. Lost like 99% of the Nintendo fans here, if you ever wondered what happened to all the sheep, that's pretty much it.

The reaction to Final Fantasy XIII and Devil May Cry 4 coming to Xbox 360 will probably always be my favourite.

Funny thing is, both TP and SS scores seem pretty fair. Could even argue they're generous. Most of these people flipped out about the scores before even playing the games lol.

I do remember McShea's review actually being bad. Forgot the details, but it was clear he played through the game without understanding some basic shit.

But the score itself, subjective as it may be, don't see it as a lowball. Game is mostly a drag with a few highs here and there.

You're actually right on both accounts. Zelda TP scored 8.8 and 8.9, one was for the Wii and the other for Gamecube. I have no idea why I remember this.

Greg Kasavin probably the last consistent reviewer GS had. Dude was too good for game journo life tho, now making games like Hades.

It was the fanboy reaction to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess receiving a 8.8 score. I was not on the GameSpot forums in late 2006, but have heard of the reaction among Zelda fans from people on other forums talking about it. The same goes when I heard that reviewer Jeff Gertsmann was fired. It was the controversy over his firing is why I came to post on the GameSpot forums and have stayed here since December 2007.

Since this forum and others at GameSpot are shells of their former selves, I do not expect something like what happened in 2006 to happen again.

The two weeks following Sony's E3 press conference in 2006. Riiiiiidge Raceeeeer!, 599 US Dollars, giant enemy crabs, massive damage, real-time weapon change. *sigh* good times. :)

Xbox One SmearCampaign really hurt Xbox fans so badly, I can admit it was definitely the worst time to be an Xbox One fan. Nothing against the system mind you but it was the most if not worst redundant system to own if you have a gaming PC.

I never subscribed myself but I had access to the "perks" for little over a year for some reason. Went away quickly when my big mouth made it known.

Yeah, those sure enough were great times.

Too bad that out of the 3 gens that MS completed, the 360 was the highlight of them, and even then the ps3 eventually came back and outsold the 360.
