There's a lot of hardcore games out that that were either hidden sleepers, out of print due to sales, or hard to find due to a new generation. From Xenogears, Persona 1, Metroid Prime Trilogy, 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors, and original copies that are just to hard to find new ! What are some games that you feel is hard to find and out of reach ?

Came to post system shock 2. I tried to find it everywhere and no digital download was available and all retail ones were really high prices. Managed to get one on ebay though for 32 euro, it arrived yesterday :D Never played it before but heard good things

Of course. I don't believe in "wrapper collecting".

Same, it's completely pointless in my mind. Why buy something just to let it sit there and never get played.

Also that's a pretty freakin sweet game edition to own. of one of the best games around too. I'm jelly :P

Cheetahmen 2 is supposedly one of the rarest cartridge games ever. It was never released or finished, but it had prototype cartridges printed out and stored in a warehouse before they were found. Prices for a factory-sealed copy go for $5,000 regularly, and the cheapest used copy goes for almost $2,000.

I wish they would just make a collectors edition for the PS3 with all 3 games. I don't think they will ever just bring out CV3 for the PSP in the U.S. I have the 1st games.

well for games from this gen: Pier Solar (GEN and SEGA CD) released in 2010. lucky for the kickstarter I'll be getting myself a dreamcast version. Ketsui Death Label (DS) Diamond Trust of London (DS) will be very rare muchi muchi pork/pink sweets (360) was really hard to find under $120. But lucky for people who missed out in 2011.. Cave is releasing a "The Best' version of the bundle sometime this year.

dodonpachi daioujou black label extra (360). I think there's around 20,000 copies available worldwide due to the copyright infringement and one cancelled print cycle. Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen (fatal frame 4) (Wii) Ikenie No Yoru (Night of the Sacrifice) (Wii) I would love to have a copy of earthbound and panzer dragoon saga tho.

System Shock 2. I couldn't find it anywhere, I had to end up torrenting it because it could not find it in any online or retail store, I couldn't only find overpriced $100 copies on eBay and even than i'm not paying the developers, i'm paying some random guy trying to rip people off.

you can (and should) buy 999 for 20 bucks on most online stores, unless you really want the original cover. just saying.

Yeah I have the Japanese press release version.  EXTREMELY limited.  I only bought it because I wanted to test out the new camera and see if I could try out MGO early... and well, I thought it was cool that I'd be one of the first people in the states to play it.  Looking back on it now, I should have kept it sealed.

Lucked out eh. I check the local BestBuys and EBgames around here. Also a store nearby that only sells used games and I still can't find it.

I'm kinda wishing I did just that a few years ago. Used copies in 2009 were pulling in $300+ on eBay. New were selling for $500+. I even had the chance to order more than one copy way back when it came out. For a $50/copy investment? That's a 1000% return in THREE years. I'm still kicking myself. Now that the MGS HD Collection is circulating, with it's Limited Edition, prices have dropped a bit. And you know what's nuts about the whole thing? People were paying $450 extra for a unique box and a movie-cut of the cutscenes from the game.

I've seriously regretted not keeping Metroid Prime Trilogy. I beat all three games and then for some stupid reason I thought I'd be a nice guy and give it to one of my friends to keep, free of charge. I'm seriously regretting that decision seeing as how used copies are now running $100+ easily on Amazon, and new copies are even higher.

9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors. Took me 2 seconds to find. I wish I had grabbed Metroid Prime Trilogy when it came out though, that is hard to find. And yeah I wish Xenoblade Chronicles was easier to get too. I search on gamestop and there's like 1 copy in a 100 mile radius.

Just looked at it on youtube, shame they didn't release it, the game looked to be a major step up from the original.

the story i know is that someone stole a nearly finished copy of the game from a presentation. the ROMs aren't exactly in pristine condition, from what i recall.

IMO it seems more likely that the game was sent around to industry folk(people at Nintendo, developers, etc) for opinions on the game perhaps.

well yeah, i doubt all the ROMs originated from a single cartridge, i just remember this story of a nearly finished copy being stolen, and that being the last time starfox 2 was ever seen officially.

My memory is hazy from that long ago, but I had every issue of EGM from 93, or so,(oddly enough I think my first issue had the first Starfox on the cover) all the way to 2000. Again, my memory is hazy going all the way back then but I could swear EGM had some kind of large feature/strategy thing for Star Fox 2.
