Uncharted 4, Zelda U, or Halo 5 - which will sell more?

Looking at 3D console Zelda titles (which I think is fair to compare with, since we're talking about Zelda U), the install base sales:

Zelda:

• OoT: 23.03%
• WW: 20.95% (16% on Wii U)
• MM: 10.18%
• TP: 7.23% (6.89 on Wii)
• SS: 3.72%

Uncharted:

• U1: 6.01%
• U2: 8.13%
• U3: 8.22%

Halo:

• H1: 26.79%
• H2: 35.37%
• H3: 14.13%
• HR: 11.33%
• H4: 8.94%

So TP and SS (the most recent games) are similar to or less than the Uncharted games, but TP and SS were both weird cases of being split across two generations or being on the back end of an exhausted Wii system (and being on a system which had a huge install base of unusual gamers). Even so, the sales are still comparable, and typically doing much higher than Uncharted. In fact, if we look at WW HD, a recent example, it had 16%. With the above evidence, I think Zelda would outsell Uncharted if the install base was even.

Halo suffered some fatigue toward the end of the generation, but it still outsells Uncharted. And I think this was just generally the Xbox 360 winding down and the PS3 surging. With the new generation, I think we'll see Halo spike again.

Going from this, I still would predict Halo > Zelda > Uncharted if the install base were even. Actually, looking at those stats, I would consider swapping Halo and Zelda. Regarldess, I would always put them above Uncharted.

Easy Halo 5.

1. PS has a diverse fanbase and loads of quality exclusives releasing next year, UC4 is just 1 of the many to choose from.

2. You have to have a Wii U in order to buy Wii U exclusives, it is still the slowest selling current gen system.

3. What else are all those faithful xbone owners going to buy for their game starved system next year? We already know the first 6mos. of xbones 2015 exclusive offerings is completely missing of any high profile games.

4. Despite MCC's wreckage, Halo is pretty much all the xbox brand is and if you don't buy that you might as well not own the system.

Halo 5 will sell the most than uncharted 4 by default.

Zelda will probably be the best game. Although all 3 will be excellent.

@lightleggy: hype sells more than anything. It's the reason why the ps4 has sold the most consoles.

"Hype", is the positive beleif that something will be great BEFORE isn't materialized kiddo (Halo MCC ect).

PS4 has been OUT for a year, after the first months or two the hype stage was worn off as the product was actualized. Until November PS4 was still outselling every other system in the US and it STILL is outselling everything WW so it isn't hype that's selling the systems now.

"Hype" is what provoked xbox fans to pay $500 for the xboxone for the Kinect, CLOUD gfx (1000X 360's. lol), 300,000 servers and hidden powers when it was first released...It seems you confuse "hype" with informed consumers lol.

I think it'll be Uncharted 4. I can't help but feel that Halo's reputation has suffered because of Bungie's departure, negative fan reaction to Halo 4 and MCC's shoddy release. This might affect sales. Zelda is on the WiiU, therefore it will not sell enough compared to Uncharted or Halo.

So Uncharted 4 > Halo 5 > Zelda U is my conclusion.

Obviously Halo. Halo is like mario now, free money. The will be uncharted then Zelda.

larger install base didn't help most of the Wii's games.

Halo 5 at approx. 10 million, then UC 4 at 8 million, bringing up the bum will be Zelda at 4-5 million.

i'm looking forward to zelda the most. The thing is I think H5 will sell the most, I wont lie I do not know how popular uncharted is. But I know Halo's fanbase is major.

Uncharted 4 is bound to sell the most because -
1. PS4 is the bestselling next gen system
2. There is so much hype for it
3. The preeeety graphics

Although the install base is bigger on the PS4. If I'm not mistaken, Halo is a bigger seller than Uncharted.

Wow, it those numbers for realz? looks like very low numbers for Zelda...why does people buy Nintendo consoles if they not even buy the great exclusives for it?

After being stuck playing nothing but Sunset Overdrive and Forza for the next 10 months, they'll rush out by the droves to buy Halo 5 despite the likelihood that 343 totally fucks it up and despite the rumors that it's basically being turned into a CoD clone.

It will be hands down the lamest game of the 3 but it will still sell the most.

Hard to say. Uncharted 4 should sell more with a larger install base but Halo is ridiculously popular, with many people buying the Xbone just for it.

I don't think Zelda U will have a chance against the other 2 console big hitters

PC has the biggest install base, most are not used for playing games, but anything on that will sell the least.

late reply, but nope not wrong. Pretending you're right doesn't make it true at all. It is well known and established that third party games and most other games for the Wii did poorly especially considering it's huge install base. Should just call me dumb and say the Wii was hot cake for everyone.

I think Uncharted 4 will but it will be close with Halo 5. Isn't TLOU close to 10 mil when combining PS3+4? Uncharted games always sell 6-7 mil anyway and a lot of 360 owners switched this gen which should add more sales. Just release a 1-3 collection to catch them up.

I think zelda will have such a high attach rate that it wont be the gulf people think. People buy Nintendo consoles for the franchises they know are coming out. Not for nonexistant third party. So it's kart, smash, mario platform. Chief of these is Zelda.

There are far more reasons/genres people buy the other consoles. Not every PS4 owner wants Uncharted. Some want the sports games, some want CoD, some want RPGs. Uncharted is a big name for Sony but the attach rate wont be in the same ball park unless I am mistaken.

My heart says Halo 5, but I think it will be Uncharted because of the larger PS4 install base.

Heroes of the Storm will have more players and make more revenue yearly than all of these 3 games combined.

I'll even put down a permanent IP bet on that, signed/validated by any MOD you want.

I'm going to say Halo. Considering I myself will be buying my X1 as soon as it launches. I also know a bunch of friends that will be doing the same. X1 sales will increase a bunch too.

I think Halo will surprise a lot of people a be a system seller -- fans will be a lot more interested in the next instalment of the series than they are MCC. Sales are irrelevant to me anyway, the most popular stuff is seldom the best out there and I will be enjoying Zelda.

Halo is way way waaay passed its prime now. Halo has the trouble of being extremely iconic as well as a popular franchise so when people **** it up like the sourness of Halo 4 rearing its head, judging by the documented drastic population number decreases and now the train wreck of Master Broke Collection, it's hard to see Halo having even half as much an impact as it once did. It will sell well, providing its not broke on release, for the multiplayer(obv) but only to the Xbox die hards. People, and more importantly fans, don't forget.

Uncharted, although one of Sony's primary franchises has never had such an iconic symbolism to represent 'PlayStation' so it can get away with maybe a couple more sequels, mediocre or not. But this one may be special in the the respect that it looks as if it is coupling what uncharted does best with what The Last of Us does best. Couple that with the install base differences and it's going to sell pretty damn well. Also has multiplayer too so that may help in some way.

Zelda will do what any Nintendo franchise will do, give Nintendo fans another game to play and fail at convincing 3DS lovers to actually go out and buy a fucking WiiU to support their favourite gaming company lol. Therefore resulting in piss poor sales.

Since lems have like 1 game and 1 movie for 2015, im sure that Halo 5 will sell even if its worst than Halo 4... Expecting Uncharted 4 - Halo 5 - Zelda.

Well, Halo 5 will definitely get a console bundle so I think Uncharted 4 will chart higher since NPD doesn't count bundles.

Zelda doesn't sell as well as Mario Kart, or Smash, so it will be beat.
