GoNintendo, Polygon

"We had been directed towards thinking about something that would play well with Nintendo. I think there was some co-marketing money and the Wii was doing well. They had some success with peripherals." - Ford

"They (Nintendo) spent a long time looking and looking. They were just like 'we have never seen anything like this before.' I've always wondered about the full meaning of that comment [laughs]. We have no idea why (Nintendo turned it down). Clearly, they have got properties well suited to this world. Why it is that they didn't rush in here will probably haunt them for the rest of their days. Nintendo could have kicked Disney's ass. If I was running Nintendo I would have jumped on this." - Rouse

---

Really, TfB? I'm really not sure if Skylanders would be a massive success under Nintendo's label compared to Activision's.

Nintendo fumbles again. The sad thing is they could make one better with all of their characters, or maybe do a pokemon themed game(would bring a new meaning to gotta catch em all). Nintendo sure knows how to waste potential.

Scrap MarioKart, and release SmashBros kart already.

Nintendo probably thought Skylanders was too kiddy.

@lbjkurono23: They already have one, it's an eShop game, I forgot what it was called though.

A couple of things.

-This was back in the days of the Wii/DS, when Nintendo was already getting a ton of flack for being too kiddy, and having too many games that require peripherals.

-Activision probably wanted a crap ton of money for it to be exclusive.

-The game looked like ass originally and nobody was happy with what they saw. I mean, just LOOK at what they did too spyro.. Almost no one could have predicted that it was going to turn into a hit. Because it looked like crap.
