This generation needs to freakin END already.

The Xbox 360 came out when I was in sixth grade. Now I'm in sophomore year of college.

I think we'll get plenty of new franchises and the shooter craze will finally die down a bit once we get new consoles.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Console makers won't introduce a new one until demand drops significantly.

I'm sure the new generation already exists. They're just waiting so they can squeeze every drop from this gen.

Prolly 2014 or sumthin. Maybe later even.

I'm still enjoying the games this gen has to offer.

Yeah its crazy to think back of how long ago these consoles launched. Its hard to believe I was 16 when they came out. Completely different stage of my life.

Demand has been dropping significantly for three years now.

I was in 7th grade when the 360 first came out. Now I'm a Junior in college. WTH!?

I want it to stop soon because my PS3 is running low on harddrive space. There are still a few more future releases coming out that I may wanna get for my PS3. I'm not sure if my PS3 can handle all that. I know it's a strange reason, but I don't wanna sell any of my games. I want them to stop making PS3 games.

Also because I hate spending $60 on every new release I want. After this generation, I'm through supporting these greedy developers and publishers. Online passes, day-one DLC, disc-locked content...It's only gonna get worse. I'm not gonna buy any of the next gen consoles. I'll be happy with playing games on my PS2, N64 and Genesis. I'm gonna be going all "retro" after this generation I guess. haha

I'm still enjoying the games this gen has to offer.

Is it the old consoles' fault, or is it the developers fault for releasing stale games? I'm not sure how new consoles would magically change the developers' mindsets.

Nintendo needs to release their system more than the others. While I do like the Wii, the hardware is damn pathetic and needs a replacement.

I'll be honest, while I would love to see new tech and maybe true 1080p, this gen still has fine quality games coming out for it. The PS3 alone has tons of games still to release. I'm kinda in the middle on this, I have my PC for the newer pretty games like BF3 and Witcher 2, but I have to say the new Metal Gear Demo and The Last of Us look pretty good. It's kinda slowing down now though because many devs are prepping next gen games, which means by 2014 we will have new consoles, if not by the end of next year. Xbox 360 is really running on fumes for games being released, MS's studios are more than likely working on games for their next console, so the new releases are slowing down. Nintendo is moving on and the Wii shows it by being completely dead. Sony, like on the PS2, will have PS3 games releasing for a bit while longer and won't really slow down until the PS4 is actually out.

I want more games like Tales of Xillia, Ni nu kuni. So i'm fine if this gen lasted another 4 years if they kept releasing quality jrpgs on it to make up for the lack of them in the beginning now that dev costs are lower. As for the Next Dragon Age and such, thats what my PC is for.

nope, its not always wise to bring a console out in the financial state some contries are in.A lot of people are spending less than ever.

Besides the more time i get out my 360 and PS3 for new games the happier i am to be honest, im not in any position to fork out for a new console yet.

Tell me when I should actually care when this gen ends, cause I'm still loving it, if you don't then find a new ****** hobby.

Well I was pretty much a pro console gamer and hardly used my gaming PC at all just couldn't get into it, but the last month i've basically gone **** the consoles 720p with no AA is just not cutting it anymore, and when I played Sleeping dogs on PC and seen how much better it looked I knew it was time to cross over to PC gaming and for whatever reason having been luving it a lot more, 1080p with AA and a stable framerate is just so much better in 2012. Still cant wait for the new God of war and the last of us though :) also halo 4 looks 10 times better than the previous versions.

This gen has lasted like 8 years, I agree, and I played over 100 games this gen, more reasons for next gen systems to be needed, and for those who don't want next gen systems now, just don't buy them and stick with playing your current gen systems, just because new systems is out doesn't mean you need to abandon your current ones.
