Grand Theft Auto V is amazing and all, but It can't beat Red Dead Redemption.

RDR's Story is better, The Atmostsphere is better, The Gun play is better, The Amount of content in the game is Surprisingly Huge, and the Maps are pretty much the same size (though GTAV probably as it bigger, haven't checked).

Also John Marston > Trevor, Michael, Franklin

Does anyone agree?

It was a good game, but I always liked Red Dead Revolver better.

Red Harlow was way more badass than John Marston.

I practically gat goose bumps thinking about a Red Dead Revolution on next gen systems. :D

But to be fair, both IP's are on fairly even footing it just depends if you feel like being a thuggish ganstah or a thuggish cowboy at the ATM. :P

I wholeheartedly disagree. While RDR is fantastic, I definitely prefer GTA V not only gameplay wise, but setting wise as well.

RDR has a better story and thats about it. Even then, 1/3 of the game is incredibly boring. GTAV has much better characters, setting and gameplay.

i thought RDR was pretty amazing, until i finished the story, then there's literally jack**** to do, even compared to say GTA4.

No. There's just about zero incentive to continue playing once you're done with the story, and the story itself suffers due to the portion in Mexico, where 90-95% of the stuff you do there is straight filler. I liked RDR, but GTA5 is the stronger title all things considered.

Playing both games.

They both work similar.

Red Dead feels better than GTAV.

Both are great games, but I don't know if Red Dead's Map and GTAV's map are about the same size or GTAV's is bigger.

They both seem to be about the same landmass.

No. I don't agree. RDR is a amazing game but GTA5 may just be the best open world game ever made and with the MP is on its way and could potentially be better than bread.

They're no where near the same size. GTA V's map absolutely dwarfs it.

I couldn't even finish Red Dead. Tapping A to ride your horse across a big empty field isn't my idea of fun.

I love RDR but i disagree. I much prefer the city environment in GTA, as a whole the world is a lot more diverse.

Also the 3 player dynamic is much better than just playing as one for this kind of game, i really hope rockstar don't ever go back.

Also the soundtrack, both the score and the inclusion of radio stations is better. I cant comment on story as i still havent finished V but its been amazing so far.

I really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption. It's still the only Rockstar game I ever played. The best part was easily those hunting, marksman, etc. challenges. I had a blast doing those. The story missions were often quite lame when you had to listen to people talk on horse back for way too long though. I still can't wait for a sequel.

All RDR needed was more activities like robbing a train and it would've been the best around.

Big spaghetti western fan so it goes without saying that RDR was one of my favourite games of the gen. How it scores against GTA V is largely irrelevant. They're both as good as it gets to me.

RDR already took an L this year when TLOU came along -- but yah, before that it was totally the GOTG regardless of what the haters say. I'll honestly be shocked if GTA V has managed to outdo both of 'em though. Cant wait to find out.

RDR is one of my favourite games of all time, but I think GTA V has the edge.

Although I completely agree that John Marston beats V's characters, and the story kick the ever living crap out of it too. But GTA is a different experience. And I don't hold that against RDR.

So for me, the only game from R* that can beat GTA V is GTA VI. I'm already salivating.

RDR was pretty good. The gunplay was amazing and arguably equivalent to GTA V's if not slightly better or worse. The world was great to look at though mostly dead in comparison to GTA V, I mean it only had one town really that could be called a town. There's not as much to do in terms of screwing around in RDR compared to GTA V, and imo the game is far more depressing, especially considering how it ends. Plus there's that huge middle portion of the game that is boring as fvck. RDR was an amazing game but I don't regret selling it last year.

RDR was disappointing. All the hype surrounding it definitely ruined my expections while playing similer to L4D. Nothing about it was great - had a decent story that dragged on until the very end and some okay game elements.

Overall average gameplay with pretty graphics and about a dozen or so memorable quest.

I'm not going to try to be controversial and different because it is an insanely good game. Although replaying it does drag on a bit.

Vice City is the best game they've made.

Never played GTAV but the middle portion of RDR is so dull that it really drags down the game as a whole. I'm stuck in Mexico with little motivation to proceed because right now I seem to be doing missions for no reason (as in, it's the main quest but I don't understand why John would agree to do this shit). That said, John Marston is an incredibly well written character.

Red Dead Redemption was good, but there were some pretty big drawbacks. I wasn't even given the ability to commit an infidelity for crying out loud.

So let me get this straight: you'll let me go on GTA-esque rampages, eat human flesh, and encourage someone else to cheat on his wife....but you won't let me cheat on my wife.

Maybe I wanted to go out whoring. Perhaps I wanted to nail Bonnie on the side. Mayhaps I just didn't give a damn if my wife was sequestered somewhere else dying of some disease and the developers at RSSD were limiting me for no good fvcking reason!

It's a good game, but it's not as good ast GTA V.
