You should do one for Super Mario Galaxy instead.Zelda Phantom Hourglass? I like that.
Who wants me to do Zelda PH?

[QUOTE="helium_flash"]We have yet to find out if Halo 3 is repetative or not. We already know that a lot has been added into Halo 3, while the controls are the only addition to MP3.

You can't be serious.
You know what i mean. Yea new power-ups and some online trading stuff and achievements thing.
Controls are the biggest change to the franchise. The controls are what made the game.

In terms of it doing stuff different I can cite several things it does pretty differently and I haven't even played the thing yet.
Progression has been changed. The ability progression starts and ends very differently. (Example, you don't lose anything at the beginning, like every other Metroid game including the Prime games)
The "backtracking" or "re-traversal" now takes place over several planets and is streamlined for playablity issues which Echoes was criticized for. Interestingly Echoes is part of the Prime series. Imagine that.
The weapons now stack ala super metroid, which is coincidentally -- not part of the Prime game trilogy.
Characters now speak with voice acting, with added improved cinematic exposition. New to Metroid in general, and the Prime games.
There's a hyper mode, tied to the phazon corruption theme. It's quite powerful, and once more -- completely new to the series. Fascinating.
How about the ability to control Samus iconic ship via the new command visor?
This list could go on forever.
(By the way, great job Willy.)
The end of this thread is like some bad movie ending with the tagline " It doesn't matter what other people think because screw them, we don't care and we will do what we want! Who is up for some Ice cream? *fade screen*"
Do a Battallion wars 2 hype thread.

come on, its a freaking point and click adventure with pirates, which is the best kind of adventure game, no one who has played monkey island can bash a piratey adventure game.

Woot. No, even better, woot.

Hmmm, if you guys say so. I'll give it a shot.
I wonder how in the world I am going to manage three hype threads at the same time.
Well you really like Metroid. That's a lot of edits and info.
I agree that the review was self-contradictory, at the same time callingthe puzzles great and lacking, but i found many aspects of it to be fair. Games don't exist in a vacuum, but are compared to their predecessors and the games around them at the time. Metroid Prime 3, from all accounts, is a fantastic game, particularly if you like that kind of game, but fails to expand enough on MP2. Controls are better, but it's too easy of a game and it's simplified. The story is only decent. Under gamespot rules, a game that fails to expand on its predeccessor enough will be marked down hard, and that since the bar gets continually raised for games, then games of equal quality will get marked lower later on (see Halo 2 on PC, though granted that was in the more competitive PC FPS world).
There are details of the review i disagree with, but overall i find it fair and its points valid, if badly put. I find that gamespot cuts through the hype to a greater extent than most other gaming sites (watch Halo 3 get 8.5 for being just like Halo 2, which is completely fair), though not completely.
Now reading the 100th edit, it is true that the review was very self-contradicting. It is very confusing, and the review doesn't work very well with all those mistakes.
But i think it should be left like that. It was a mistake, but it would be more humiliating for the site if they had to re-edit it. Gamespot takes their reviews seriously, and only re-edit ONLY when it's horribly horribly wrong. The MP3 review was wrong, but not that wrong.
Just let him be.
This thread is still going!?!
I am proud!

I am REALLY liking that last edit.
Very nice take on the review.

I didn't write that, somebody else by the name of Donatos did. I was looking for something memorable to put for the final 100th edit (as I was already on the 99th), and the guys old me to put that review in. So I put it in.

Because this is a worldwide forum, I think it would be nice for the UK to have some light under them.

What a nicely set up thread.
MP3 looks fun. I've yet to try it, but I shall manage to steal my friend's Wii one day (hopefully before I buy one myself).
