The last game to make you say WOW!!

The last game would be Crysis 2, especially with DX11. Some of the scenes in the game are purely spectacular.

Another time I was flawed by a game was first playing Gears of War back in 2006. I was astounded by the technology pushing the game.

Honourable mention to GTA 4. No other game has created such a dense, organic, breathing world as Liberty City.

There was only one game this entire genthat completely and utterly left me speachless with WOWness and that was Super Mario Galaxy 2. It quite simply blew my mind.

Metal Gear Solid 4. Pure epicness.

Batman AA, I only just recently finished it, the build up part to the Joker with all the goons it that one room, I took them all on and the fight was awsome.

Witcher 2.

Stronghold 3. From the articles I've read and the snippets of gameplay in the gameplaytrailer, this game is ought to be very, very good if Firefly does as they say they are doing. We shall see September 1st :D

Just from an organic, natural sense, I'd say Odin Sphere.

I've "wow'd" at SF4, BBCS2, WoW, etc; not at the games themselves, but at things that people managed to do within them.

witcher 2 definitely, ive never been that amazed by graphics before. Even if not technically but overall it looks better than crysis with mods.

Visually, Far Cry 2. Its the best looking open world game ever.

Just bought Bastion last night on the XBLA....Got some WOW factor too it. Very nice visuals, excellent game play.

The Truly wow is MGS4.............. BigMama motorcycle, the easter eggsss,,,, battle of the two Mech and the outer heaven split screen.... W.O.Wzershippiesanta

What is the last game to truly make you go WOW thats amazing, it can be due to graphics or gameplay or sheer joy.

for me it was in 2008 with metal gear solid 4, there were numerous holyy ---- moments. but since then no game truly took my breath away. how about you guys?

Bastion and Fable 3 for their art style and detailed worlds

Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Positive: Uncharted 2

Negative: Duke Nukem Forever

Outland

Crysis 2. Some awesome moments in that game. Mass Effect 2 was incredible as well.

MGS4, the whole experience was just really well done.

And uncharted 2. Not like WOW!!! right when the game starts, but the way ND approached making it cinematic is really something commendable.

The Witcher 2. It showed me that the RPG genre isn't quite dead yet.

LA Noire for three reasons:

1. Facial animation/tech.
2. Size of the map.
3. The amount of weird and funny bugs/glitches.

God of War 3 for visuals and scale.

Heavy Rain for pacing, voice acting and storytelling.

MK9.

Dead or Alive Dimensions for 3DS has that effect. Also, De Blob 2 on the DS looks and plays pretty good, too. Quite impressive indeed.

Not sure if I ever said "wow" out loud but the last game to give me a "wow" moment was either I would say playing through Heavy Rain this past spring (just the game in general) and Final Fantasy IX in June on how good and enjoyable the game was, even to someone like me who had never experienced the final fantasies back in their hayday.

Probably Demon's Souls. I only played it in January/February this year.

Uncharted 2 for sure, best PS3 game hands down.
