I think this show simply has very little credibility.

Too many snubs, a very poorly done gamer vote system, and not allowing December releases (doing it too early), not splitting the performance and graphics categories, not having a best adventure category, and not having to play all the games to vote in a category as a jury member makes these awards less credible than the GDC Awards and the BAFTAs.

Its funny, last year TLOU Part II won here, but Hades won the GDC, DICE, and BAFTA GOTY.

ok, this site lost all credibility with the tlou2 pick. Hades was the best game last year period. Its good enough to even challenge for this year.

I really do not understand why some gamers on this forum get so "worked up" over awards. They do not affect how they enjoy the games they liked. The same goes when a gaming outlet posts "the greatest video games of all time" list.

They also lost credibility when Ghosts of Tsushima won over Ori for Art direction last year, and they will have zero credibility if Erika Mori loses for performance.

Deathloop is TLOU Part II of this year. Its The Green Knight of games, liked more by critics than gamers (the audience).

That VGA is always super corny. I'll be sure to check later tho to see if any cool announcements come out of it, I heard rumors of MS showing more of Avowed and Helblade 2. That's would be cool. Interested in Avowed.

@SolidGame_basic: Eh, Jack Tretton always looked like a bit of a dick to me. My favourite from the Sony side was Kevin Butler. I know he’s just an ad guy but damn that was some of the best stuff I’ve ever seen. No doubt helped turn things around for the PS3.
