@judaspete: Could you elaborate on the more complex, deeper, bigger & more content part.
Like I said I've never played it.
Never played a Tekken game, I always saw it as a poor man's VIrtua Fighter.
Poor man's Virtua Fighter? You've missed a lot in the last 30 years apparently. Virtua Fighter wishes it had half the pedigree and engagement Tekken has. Thanks for the laugh.
@uninspiredcup: @last_lap: Virtua Fighter is better than Tekken, but Tekken is not a "poor man's" anything. That would be Dead or Alive.
Edit: Actually, it would be Battle Arena Toshinden.
Virtua fighter hasn't been relevant since Sega Saturn was relevant.
in 2024 Virtua Fighter is a poor man's Dead or Alive and a Homeless drug addicted man's Tekken...

It's not what is relevant, it's about which is better, and even if there isn't another Virtua Fighter game ever again and there's another 50 Tekken games, Virtua Fighter will still be a better fighting game Franchise.

Your delusional fanboy of a dead franchise that hasn't been relevant for over 20 years *shrug*
I consider Sega to be a zombie - dead man walking. Sega games are a relic of the golden past and rather dead than alive.

Tekken 3 is vastly inferior to Virtual Fighter.
Everyone knows this but Tekken fans.
After all the hate i'm getting for my comment that appears to be very true.

You seem to be struggling with VF series being the better series, its ok it doesn't mean you can't enjoy Tekken as i'm not saying it's a bad franchise, just not as good.

Yeah the trailer they showed recently of their rebooted franchises had none of the charm. Company of Heroes 3 was dead on arrival too, not sure what is going on over at SEGA, but it's nothing good.
@last_lap: Tekken is more complex than Virtua Fighter in that it has more underlying systems to manage. Deeper in that there are more attacks and longer combo chains in each character's moveset. Bigger and more content go hand in hand I suppose. There are more characters, more game modes, more story, more side content (Tekken Ball, Tekken Bowling...), just more stuff.
All that said, I personally prefer Virtua Fighter. I appreciate that Tekken has so much to offer, but getting good with even one character takes a lot of time. Feels like doing homework.

Mini games in a fighting game sounds weird, and just feels like padding without seeing them in action to see if they add to the experience. VF move set is very complex, but not because it allows a hundred hit (hyperbole but you know what I mean) combos to make the game feel complex.
VF was always light on modes because it was born in the arcades, but it had enough back in the day, maybe not so much for this time period because of all the fighting passes etc to milk the customer dry (Dead or Alive is disgraceful at that) so it's probably for the best it stays in the shadows as to not damage its legacy.
Anyway thanks for the info 👍

The Last Blade 2 has no relevance and it's better than any game Netherrealms has made.
It doesn't really mean anything. Other than Sega being a bad company.

Unrelated studios and games but OK
Tekken > Virtuafighter
Last virtua fighter game wasn't even better than DOA5 (only VF released in last 15 years)
Was bare bones and had no community because Sega abandon it.
DOA5 worst than last 3 tekken releases.
Even if what say is true, VF is dead for good reasons
@uninspiredcup: lol
nah just just for fannies who can't accept it died nearly 20 years ago
"Hey I'm real fighter fan, I play virtua fighter 2"
Classic case of "the future is now old man" smh..
Pretty sure most people who say virtua fighter is best, don't actually play 3d fighters last 20 years

Come on y'all. 3D fighting games are such a rare thing now, we should celebrate any release getting major attention. We may have our favorites, but all of them bring something cool to the table.
Besides, this squabbling is meaningless when Soul Calibur is objectively the best one anyway. ;)
...and Kazyua Mishima wants global domination by killing opposition. Jin is the good guy in this game who opposes a tyrant dad. He has also got rid of the devil blood with the aid of Zafina.
Why is Jin Kazama still fighting his dad Kazyua mishima and his grand dad hehachi mishiam?
Cuz he threw him down a cliff.
hehachi threw kazua mishima if i remember. jin? why he is ?

He doesn't like the stuff going down in his family, like kids being thrown off of cliffs.
We all have stuff like that in our family. We just choose to channel our energy into different things than fighting.

I actually like Virtua fighter, vf2 was the first fighting game I ever played.
Just not going to kid myself and pretend VF is top tier when it's done nothing but revisions of VF5 since 2006
It's awesome. Probably my favorite fighter this gen so far. Haven't loved a Tekken this much since 3.
TEKKEN 8 marketing campaign in London utilizes drones in an epic way🚀

Uninspired cup asked and they delivered.
Looks good, have any fighting game ever got 10/10 ?
Soul Calibur Dreamcast
Street Fighter Alpha 2, Capcom VS SKN 2 & Marvel vs Capcom 2 should have all received 10/10 scores
@R4gn4r0k: Other way around. Soul Calibur 1 is the one that got 10/10s every.
Second highest rated game of all time after Zelda: OOT. (98 @ mc). Maybe third place after GTA IV depending on who you ask (also 98 @ mc)
@SolidGame_basic: bro, the golden era??? The two best fighting games of all time, Soul Calibur and Tekken 3 released in 1999 and 1998 respectively. Tekken 2 in 1996 and Virtua Fighter 3 in 96. SF3 in 97.
The golden age of fighting has to be '96-99.
Not played a Tekken since 360 days 2 is my favourite in the series. Had a great time on that on ps1.
@R4gn4r0k:
I'll get it when it gets cheaper and when more characters come out. I'm just tired of getting fighting games day one and having to buy more characters piece by piece.
Beat the story mode last night and it was pretty kick ass. The last couple of chapters were epic af as the kids would say.
