System Wars Lounge V.65: Star Wars: The Force Awakens Edition

Yes it's finally December 2015!!! That's right, in this special lounge, we gotta celebrate The Force Awakens by talking about anything Star Wars games, movies, books, prequels, ect, ect. So there it is, let's all go see this bad boy and see if Disney is worthy of handling Star Wars.

As a Star Wars fan, the amount of screen time that has been shown in the trailers is starting to worry me (for a 2 hour movie we've seen about 15 min of footage so far), even the new Duracell Star Wars commercial might have spoiled a plot in the upcoming movie Rey is a Jedi

Then you have the 30 years after the fall of the Empire which of course you know who Rey and Kylo are gonna be Han and Leias kids . Then you have the whole New Hope vibe which means someone is gonna get killed off Like Obi-Wan, my guess is Luke or Han

The movie is gonna be awesome but if there's any "haha surprise" factor Abrams did it poorly just like what he did with Star Trek Into Darkness.

@charizard1605: it was $30. It's alright. Better than unity. Plus they added pretty much all the saints row gang game play. Its a solid 6/10 so far. its a good change of pace from fallout's openness. its more focused

I know this may sound funny coming from me but I never ever play any Just Cause game in my life. I just didn't see the appeal to that game. Is it really fun and if so, where do I start?

Probably the 2nd one. The closest thing to it are the Saints Row games in structure, just replace its aesthetic and gameplay devices with content inspired from corny early 90's action flicks. It can be picked up for cheap. The PC version has a fun multiplayer mode.

It was fun back then despite some really awful vehicle handling, but the structure of the game might feel a little dated or not as interesting in an era where every fucking game has to be some open world littered with activities/side-missions to do on the map.

Just Cause 3 looks fun. But I really do not want to even look at another open world game for awhile.

Star Wars is gonna be too good. I watched two trailers, and since then I look away from any TV spots or promos. I saw enough to get me sufficiently hyped, and I'm all ready to go.

Not a fan of Star Wars.

Man, Oblivion Lost for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is hard as ****, far harder than vanilla (which is already incredibly hard). The Hell with this, i'm enjoying the atmosphere the difficulty is creating, but i don't have time for this. I think i'll replay the game with Complete mod for a casual walk through (note: the Complete mod changes the gameplay and makes it far easier than the vanilla version, never ever go for a first-time playthrough with this mod.).

@Desmonic: We unfortunately don't have an IMAX theater within 2 hours of here and I don't feel like driving that distance when I work the next day. :P

The earliest showing that I could have seen was 7:00 PM but it's in 3D. Not a fan, and my wife hates 3D, so that was out of the running.

You'll still be in the movie when I finally get in anyways! Runtime is 136 minutes. Sucker!

Went to Disneyland over the Thanksgiving break and Tomorrowland is pretty much all star wars at the moment. Even space mountain is now hyperspace mountain with X-wings and tie fighters everywhere, and it felt like they made it faster which was pretty fun

Does the Chaz as Jar Jar thing make more or less sense if we consider that whole "Jar Jar was a Sith Lord" theory?

@Zassimick: I'm gonna wait a few days after it's released to take the gf out to see it, I worked at the 4th busiest movie theater in NA when ep 1-3 came out (and the Lotr movies, Pirates of the Caribbean and the first 4 Harry Potter movies). Needless to say I avoid day one movies like the plague lol.

I know I won't be able to watch Star Wars on Opening Night, but I'll have a huge Vacation to watch it so that's great.
