@harry_james_pot: I couldn't finish Witcher 1. Gameplay was soo....weird? I dunno. I only played both 1&2 last year or so, perhaps my expectations in terms of gameplay were more in line with what Witcher 2 presented rather than Witcher 1 (which is a 2007 game after all). I enjoyed 2 quite a lot though :)

It's the opposite for me. I really enjoyed the first one and finished it multiple times, but the second one really bored me and I stopped halfway through.

@harry_james_pot: Probably should have played it when it released (or closer to when it released). I felt many of the mechanics were a bit outdated when I finally did play it :P Ah well. Still hyped for 3! :D

I didn't play it on release either, it was just before 2 came out. :P I'll still try to finish TW2 before 3 comes out though.

The mechanics are indeed a bit outdated, and the combat can be weird.. But in RPGs I care more about the world, characters, and story. And the first game did a fantastic job with that, the atmosphere was amazing. Much better in that regard than 2, IMO.

@harry_james_pot: Well, for me it depends. There are games in which I can "forget" about inconsistent/boring gameplay just because of the story/atmosphere. There are others in which I can't, no matter how hard I try. Witcher 1 was one of the latter for me :P

There is also the reverse. Demon Souls has some very cool gameplay, but due to the nature of game in which the story is kind of out there for you to discover I couldn't really get engaged by it :S I beat the first two bosses and couldn't force myself to pick it up again. Likewise with MGR.

Seeing as how I have 350 coins left on Club Nintendo (and there's virtually no chance of getting more coins from here 'til it closes), I'll probably just get Metroid 2 and some other game for my 3DS.

I think I might let her just play and see if that happens. I like new Chie more as it is.

I do too, but for the first four hours or so, I hated her, and she made me want to cut my ears off. I was pretty mad about it too.

Then the voice actress settles into the role, and she stops sounding like an obnoxious anime character, and more like the more grounded, realistic person Chie's character is, which helps.

I seriously don't know what's wrong with Chie's voice. Sounds fine to me...

Character is up to the individual, but she remains a worthless party member throughout the game. Her supposed "best skill in the entire game", Dragon Hustle, is basically Heat Riser for the entire party (Attack, Defense, Acc/Eva up).

However, for at a WHOPPING 150 SP cost, this skill's practical use is slim, considering Chie also has one of the lowest SP counts in the game (290 point at Lv99 I believe), meaning she can use it all of ONCE before requiring a Snuff Soul. Assuming you slap her with the Chakra Ring that cuts SP cost in half, it's still at most 3 uses (9 turns total). Add to this the fact that the rest of Chie's abilities are mostly physical and she has VERY limited use in battle. Agneyastra gives her at most 3 heavy physical attacks per turn, worthless without Power Charge beforehand.

So? Dump Chie, go with a party of Yosuke, Yukiko and Teddie for a well-rounded set-up. Naoto or Kanji is up to you, but I found those two to have similar limited use.
