There are now 719 Pokemon. That's a lot of them, really- and contrary to what most people will tell you, they've continued to be largely cool over the years (though each new bunch does have a fair few stinkers). This edition of System Wars Votes is going to focus on what the best Pokemon of all time is. Not Pokemon the games- Pokemon the creatures. What is the best one of all time?
With 719 of them, how do you even decide? Well, it's simple. We're going to use the System Wars Votes format, again. That said, because we have such a massive pool this time, we're going to change the rules a little, so make sure you pay attention:
- You can vote for up to five Pokemon at a time. Make sure your votes are in order, with your most favorite Pokemon being the one listed first. This is because the point distribution will be weighted based on individual rankings. The first Pokemon in any vote will be awarded 100 points. The second Pokemon is given 80 points. The third Pokemon is given 60 points. The fourth Pokemon is given 40 points. The fifth Pokemon gets 20 points.
- Make sure you vote for at least three Pokemon. Entries with less than three votes will be disqualified from the final tally.
- Do not list more than five Pokemon. If you do, all votes beyond the first five will be discarded.
- All 719 Pokemon are eligible.
- Formes and shinies are not counted as separate Pokemon. What this means is, it does not matter whether you vote for Origin Giratina or Shiny Charizard, those votes go towards Giratina and Charizard regardless.
- Mega evolutions do not qualify.
- You will have until May 9, 11.59pm Central Time to get your votes in. That's a lot of time, so make sure you get your voice heard!
- Don't vote for the same Pokemon more than once. I really shouldn't have to explain this one, but I am doing it pre-emptively anyway.
Okay, all that's pretty simple. Ready? Cool. I'll start with my own votes:
- Pikachu
- Charizard
- Gyarados
- Blaziken
- Lucario
