I mean, it's not like there was any doubt, since this is a new Smash Bros. games and the Smash Bros. games all have spectacular soundtracks. But it's worth pointing out just how amazing this game's soundtrack is. And hey, this is only the 3DS version: there are going to be some different tracks on the Wii U version, since that version has Wii U-exclusive stages!

Surprisingly, having just put down the great demo, the only part of the game itself that seemed underwhelming was the music in the single stage at hand. But I'm sure it'll be good

You're take some of the best music from what, over 50 games?

And comparing it to a single game's music.

The Rainbow Road medley is a dream come true. No, I mean, literally, I've wanted something like it since forever.

Please don't say "best" when it's clearly a matter of taste and not something objectively measurable.

I like the osts in all of the SSB games, but I mean... come on... It's just generic japanese action type music. Is it good? Sure. Is it the best? **** nah.

@charizard1605:

I don't get the rainbow road craze. Every time that course pops up in mk8, everybody wants it. The only great rainbow road was the original and the updated version of it in the 3ds Mario kart. The music has gotten too overblown IMO--as if nintendo wanted to get a bunch of 13 year olds excited.

Not even close. The DS, Wii, and 3DS Rainbow Roads are amazing. The remixed N64 Rainbow Road is great. The Wii U Rainbow Road is the ultimate test of skill.

I guess it comes down to opinions more than anything else.

@charizard1605:

I disagree. The snes is still the best one. The others pale in comparison for skill. I'm not saying they are bad tracks--all the mk tracks are great; I just don't understand the fascination with the hype for every new version of it. But skill? Na, snes got the tight turns, narrow paths, and very little room for error.

Not bad, though to be fair, these SSB4 has a lot of excellent soundtracks to choose from and remix. So it would be rather disappointing if it didnt have good soundtracks.

Rainbow Road is one of those tracks that test your skill as a player better than any other course, Mount Wario belongs in this category too, which is why it is so popular. Going in first place in that track is a lot more satisfying than winning in something like the mushroom cup tracks.

I thought GC Rainbow Road was harder than all of those.

I would be a real loss for the game if this isn't in the WiiU version.

The best part about Smash Bros 4s soundtrack is that it has Xenoblade Chronicle's osts in it. I do wonder why Gaur Plains isn't remixed like it is in Shulk's trailer.

Brawl's theme is too dark and edgy for a fighting game series like this. It's good, but I think Smash 4's (and Melee's) theme captures the spirit of the series a lot better.

They're probably saving remixes of Xenoblade for the Wii U version. In any case, it's hard to remix a soundtrack that's already so perfect.

Really? It's barely a test of skill in general and perhaps, disappointingly, the easiest of the Rainbow roads yet.

@Pikminmaniac:

I agree. As far as which tracks require the most skill in mk8? Which ones do you think? Personally if there's one area of critique in mk8 its that some karts are miles better in certain scenarios than others and that winning is sometimes luck of the draw based on tracks selection, and everyone seems to favor heavy riders on bikes.

I really couldn't say. I could only bring myself to play the game no more than 20 minutes at a time when I first got it and it's been a while since I last played. It's just relative to most other Nintendo titles and their later challenges, rainbow road is an absolute cakewalk. On the Wii U alone, DKCTF, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D World, The wonderful 101, NSMBU, and Nintendoland offer way more challenge that requires far more skill.
