I think it will do well...I think, though, given GS's recent history it will still be AA. Games have a really hard time reaching AAA nowadays for just being fun games.

Wii U owners hyping a game that is basically the same as the 3DS game only with 4 players. No higher than an 8 sorry Wii U owners this won't save you.

My god this game looks so great. I predict 9.0 and huge contender for GOTY. If I had the funds I'd buy a Wii U right now for this game.

As long as you’re a fan of the Mario franchise, and lets face it if you own a Wii U at this point you obviously are, Super Mario 3D World is a must have for your collection.

I never thought I'd say this, but... Super Mario 3D World is easily on par with the Super Mario Galaxy titles and is hands down the best multiplayer Mario adventure that has ever graced a Nintendo system. Around every bend is a new power-up, a new enemy, a new way to play Mario that you could never imagine. It's hard not to smile when you're riding an enormous dinosaur though a secret waterfall, all while dressed as a cat. Super Mario 3D World is wacky, fun, and throughly enjoyable. It's easily the best title for the Wii U to date and one of the greatest adventures in Mario's star-studded history.

9.0 seems extremely likely.

So what are the chances that this will be the highest reviewed next gen game? The game to beat so far is Pikmin 3 with an 87 metascore.

Like, a hundred percent? Unless EAD really bombed it, which is an implausible scenario.

I suspect so as well... I suppose the better question will be when will another game threaten SM3DW's spot on the top...

It just depends on whether the metascore ends up being closer to a 9 or a 10. If it's the latter, there might not be a higher scoring game all gen.

I'm normally pessimistic when it comes to GS scores and nintendo games but I think this has a solid shot at getting AAA

Well, based on the games we know are coming for next gen consoles, I feel if it gets a 9ish average it might still keep that spot for some time actually.

Also, man, I remember when this game was first unveiled at E3 and the overwhelmingly bad feedback. i remember how, as recently as September, I was calling it a glorified 3DS upport.

Delicious crow has been served, and I've never been happier to taste some. Never doubt EAD Tokyo.
