Good news, the franchise may live on!
All i need to know is that the series isn't dead. Whether the game will still be good or not is question but as long as I know the series isn't dead i have hope. Stalker is one of the best franchises on PC ever. IMO. I would go nuts if they came out with another. :)
I just hope they can capture the same feel that the original games offered, that is assuming this actually means another game for the franchise.
It's all in the atmosphere man. some love it, some just can't get into it.I couldnt get into Stalker, I don't get why people love it so much.

Isn't Vostok formed by ex-STALKER devs anyway? I think they are already developing a multiplayer-based STALKER spiritual sequel with survival elements of DayZ.Here's hoping they hire 4A, Vostok Games or heck even CD Projekt RED as the devs (they helped GSC with the first one).

Yeah the new owners probably realize that keeping this franchise PC exclusive would be a misstake. Ofc they also need to make the experience smoother and less frustrating so that it fits modern standards. The STALKER games should come to the consoles.
Michael0134567
[QUOTE="Michael0134567"]so you along with dumb console gamers can play it and thus yet another dumbed down game. How ironic, when you're a big dumbass. The STALKER games should come to the consoles.

STALKER cant work on console it require too many keys and big inventory. unless they dumb it down with regen hearlth, removal of inventory and 2 weapons limit.... Yeah they should remove a lot of those keys, they just make the game clumpsy. Games are supposed to be fun, not like work. I think the Stalker franchise will be reborned on consoles, better than ever! The STALKER games should come to the consoles.

We need hardcore games that only be play by its fanbase. 12 yo can play MW3 but cant play Arma and Stalker. can he?? Hardcore fanbase is too small and most of them are also into piracy. Bitcomposer needs to appeal to a wider audience to grow the STALKER brand. I think adding a multiplayer mode and making the locations a bit tigher are a couple of things that are needed. Simplifying the controls is another. Also the world is a bit grim, which is tedious. A more lighthearted vibe would be good I think.[QUOTE="SNIPER4321"] STALKER cant work on console it require too many keys and big inventory. unless they dumb it down with regen hearlth, removal of inventory and 2 weapons limit....SNIPER4321

This is the problem. GAMES should not be play by everyone. its not movie/ Im skilledfull gamer. and most game ppls call hard are actually easy for me.SNIPER4321Only a handful of gamers in the world can play games at the level you do. That's why it's hard to build a sustainable business around making decent budget games for that audience. I think you need to get dumber, rather than developers wasting money on more intelligent games.

I never played STALKER before, but I hear it's kinda buggy. But SNIPER tells me it's the best game ever made, I don't know if it is but if they made a console version I might check it out.
"UPDATE: RPS have spoken to bitComposer, who slightly clarify whats going on. The suggestion is that the rights are specifically for game adaptations of Strugatskys Stalker, presumably meaning the film/book based on Roadside Picnic, a book also by Strugatsky. That would mean that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games were still owned by former GSC head Sergei Grigorovich, despite bitComposer specifically using those games acronym affectation in their press release." :xJuggernaut140
So in other words they're allowed make similar games but not continue with STALKER 2? :?

A more lighthearted vibe would be good I think. you do realize that... consoles also get piracy? at least half as much, plus if you count used game sales then devs and publishers lose just as much money on consoles if not more than on the PC, so I would rather have a loyal fanbase that is less likely to pirate games than to appeal to a bunch of casuals.... the only profit gain in this situation is that they will get more sales simply because its on more than one system...[QUOTE="SNIPER4321"][QUOTE="Sushiglutton"] Yeah they should remove a lot of those keys, they just make the game clumpsy. I have mixed feelings about this news. While, yes, getting a STALKER game would be great but have you guys played Jagged Alliance (which is also another IP bitComposer bought)? On release it was a glitchy mess with all sorts of missing/confusing texts. What's worse is bitComposer basically refused to talk to the community and listen so a lot of the problems still persist in the game despite multiple patches. In fact, I think it's basically been the modding community that is fixing a lot of the bugs and stuff from Jagged Alliance. So you guys might consider this a blessing that bitComposer didn't get the IP for STALKER.
