S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat sold over 2 million copies

If you go to Steam (new UI at least), on the description for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat it says "With over 2 million copies sold, the new episode of the most internationally successful S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series seamlessly connects to the first part of the Shadow of Chernobyl. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat takes PC gamers once again into the vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986."

It may not be a HUGE success, but as far as I remember, Uncharted 2 still hasn't achieved 2 million mark.

We don't know market results for majority of the PC games, so PC gaming isnt dead just ye.

If true this is extremely impressive. Considering how small the production costs were and how this game basically had no marketing budget, the developers must be filthy rich. The best part is the production of Stalker 2 will be sped up like crazy.

That's good news.

Isn't it $20 on steam though? at least for people that own the previous Stalker games.

I would go back to STALKER: SOC,but the game keeps crashing after that café part.Every damn time.

And thats the figure in September 2008.

Now that almost two years has passed and with 2 new STALKER games, we can quite safely say that the figure now is definitely higher than 2 million sales.

And I'm quite sure they got a crapload of sales from all the DD weekly/holiday sales.

Even though that 2Mil is not for CoP, I hope that the game is just as if not more successful. They really did an amazing job with it. This has been one of my best purchases in two years.

Your wrong on every account. The stalker series as a whole has sold 2 million copies. Read the description on steam better. I can't even get into the first one. It's just too different from every other FPS and since I can only play it at my friend's house, it's weird trying to play such an indepth FPS while hanging out with a friend.

When I eventually beat it, should I even get Clear Sky? I hear it's very disappointing so I'm not sure if I should buy it.

Selling only that little much more with a 20M budget and a bajillion advertising is pretty terrible compared to a niche game without a single commercial made for it.
