Sony: No Man's Sky is like a 1st Party game to us

We can all admit that SONY has the worlds most powerful video game console and coincidentally is current gen 8 console leader.

2 undeniable facts.

I think it came from 2 things.

1)By gamers FOR gamers mantra.

2)SONY's Live, Learn and Love philosophy.

No, it came by the other two companies shooting themselves in the foot.

That's 1 theory and I do think MS had an abortion of a reveal, then got knocked the **** out at the following E3 trying to change the industry on their own for their own nefarious ways.

That's nice. Too bad power and sales seem to have no effect on quality exclusive games.

I like Remedy's game, Alan Wake isn't particularly all that good, but their brand of story telling usually works for me and they know how to do a good combat loop in their gameplay. Plus I assume they'll bounce back because Max Payne 1 and 2 are excellent.

Turn 10 is legitimately impressive at what they do, I'm just not that into racing games, but Forza 3 was stellar. Forza Horizon isn't PGR enough, and Microsoft does a shit job of treating Forza with more respect. Those games should not be on a 2 year cycle, but instead Turn 10 should be given the 3-4 years they would probably need to make significant changes that they could make because the games are good enough and they are talented enough.

Beyond that? 343 is a tribute band to Bungie (a one hit wonder for my money) who makes Halo games, except not as good as Bungie so far. Black Tusk is the EPic Games tribute band brought in for Gears. More or less MS first party is only interesting depending on the 2nd party dev they work with: Platinum games for instance, I love their stuff, I'm excited for Scalebound.

All of sony are lame? no, most of it. Naughty Dog can be good, really good, they aren't wholly original, but they make up for it in execution. I also like the stuff Thatgamecompany does, I don't care if it's hipster, i don't care that it's artsyfartsy, the fact is those games are unique and not run of the mill. Beyond that? Geurilla made one good game and that was Killzone 2, I have yet to play a Sucker Punch game that is good. Okay sure, the first 2 infamous games were okay, but good nah. Gran Turismo? needs to bounce back. the SCEJ stuff that isn't Team Ico or the From Software collabs are pretty boring games like Puppeteer, and David Cage doesn't make video games.

Games I like? Good ones: Bayonetta, The Souls Games, The Last of Us, Antichamber, Divinity Original Sin, Mario Galaxy, Super Meat Boy, Braid, Europa Universalis, Valkyria Chronicles, etc.

I didn't buy my PS4 for killzone or infamous. I bought it to play Bloodborne, a naughty dog game here or there, and then the Japanese exclusive that they will get here and there.

I really want to love this game but I never feel like they actually show it working from moment to moment.... Just scripted stuff.

So far RotTR has only been confirmed for X1 and 360 so the game WILL launch exclusively on Xbox, they've not told a single lie there. Will it come to PC or PS down the line? No doubt, but neither of those are confirmed so for now it is exclusive.

NMS on the other hand has been on PC since it's announcement and will be better on PC, yet Sony are acting like it's exclusive, when it's never been.

Having no money is one thing but shouldn't you be worried why rich MS with huge pockets doesn't buy studios so for once they have a decent group of creative 1st party studios instead of feeding you with the same old Halo/Forza/Gears !!

Well then guess one has to wait, in the meantime Forza/Halo games have been released/announced and shortly Geow (collection or sequel whatever it will be).. However it is quite strange that MS with all its endless supply of money doesn't have the best 1st party line-up of teams compared to its direct competitors..

Sony cant even get their God of War/Uncharted/Gran Turismo out the door. So if you are comparing top tier vs. top tier, you just owned yourself.

Let me break it down if you don't understand. You criticize Microsoft for spewing out Halo/Forza/Gears but at least those games are out (will be with Gears and probably before Uncharted) so at least there are quality games on the Xbox when you compare both flagship series. Console vs. Console. That is all.

There have been plenty of new things to play on the Xbox One. What difference does it make if it is 1st party or 3rd? Titanfall will be much like Tomb Raider. Not first party but damn sweet to play on Xbox. Not on PS4.

The difference is that Microsoft are only stating the facts as they currently are, which is that Square-Enix are launch RotTR on Xbox exclusively in 2015. Meaning it will come to other platforms in 2016 or later. They have never stated that it's anything more than a timed exclusive deal.

Sony on the other hand are saying NMS is a first party exclusive, when it is neither of those things.

But I'm sure at E3'16 when RotTR is announced for PS4 and PC, you'll forget all about that and be trying to claim some pointless victory because Sony grabbed an "exclusive" from Microsoft.
