A year later they are unbelievably still on their launch sku!!!! How many people do you know have functioning launch PS3's that have not been worked on? Exactly. My PS3 slim has been going strong for almost 6 years.

They applied with the FCC back in MAY for their new sku. MAY!!!!! Just how long does the FCC approval process take? I know it's not a speedy process but do they have to sell another HQ building to get the ball rolling?

If I don't hear something from Sony about a new 1 TB sku around Xmas time I'll probably just buy an Xbone.

Get an xboxone with a game=350 (Sunset or 2 assassin's creed games). Get an xbox with a game and a 1tb drive =450.

100 dollars premium for a 1tb hard drive (not even 7200) is beyond stupid.

I love how you are comparing launch SKU from last generation and talking about longevity... All SKU are the same exact parts right now on both xboxone. They are just recolors and one with a bigger hard drive.The hardware is the same.

If you are looking for a real new sku wait for another year.

Getting a new SKU out isn't as easy as getting it through the FCC. Sony likely still has a large manufacturing contract with whomever provides them with their HDD's and the order / contract length hasn't been fulfilled yet. Sony is pumping out PS4's and it's considerably harder to introduce a new SKU when you're selling so well and about to enter the holiday season. You do NOT want to disrupt your manufacturing process right now. It's a poor decision.

Nonetheless, perhaps they're already prepping a new SKU for the holiday and we just don't know about it yet.

EDIT - Also, the console has been out for less than a year. You honestly think they'll be crazy Black Friday deals? I very much doubt it.

inserting a new HDD in the PS4 is as easy as inserting a game in the PS4. Youtube it and see how easy it is.

I just picked up my second Xbox ONE today. I like to have them easily accessible. When I was at Best Buy, the dude working there said that they had the 1TB COD Xbox ONEs in the back.

I still wouldn't buy one though. The amount of price increase, without Kinect doesn't sway me enough when just spending a $100 on a 3TB external drive.

I am sure the PS4 will be priced close to this when it does come out.

There's no point. PS4 is selling like its a drug for crazed cows. When sales slow down 2 years from now you might see a bigger hdd.

You don't need a TB on the PS4. It doesn't take hours to install like it does on the Xbone.

That is an excellent point. If I'm choosing between these consoles, there is NO WAY I'm getting the AW bundle. First of all it's ugly as sin, but the pricing is way off as well for the extra HDD and digital fluff.

The Assassin's Creed bundle seems a pretty good deal at $350 since it actually comes with TWO games . If I'm choosing, it would come down to Assassin's Creed bundle or whatever offer the PS4 comes up with. If the only PS4 bundle is the "base system" for $399 I"m leaning towards the Assassin's Creed bundle for now, and picking up Halo MC Collection.

My fat PS3 is a launch console (60 GB) and still works pretty flawlessly. It does run a bit louder than I remember, but it probably just needs to be taken apart and have some dust cleaned out of it.
