So basically NX is dead on arrival?

Because there are some serious issues just based on what we know, whther the info actually gives information or is nothing but vague statements.

The NX seems to be going the route of making it's own ecosystem. maybe QOL qill also be attached, regardless, there are sayings of Nintendo android compatibility. Most likely this will result in a weak console. Maybe stronger than Wii U (are there phones stronget than Wii U out?) or slightly weaker. This is not good.

Then of course, we have to talk about the audience they are targeting. The strategy with NX is aiming for the casuals the Wii got, it's aiming for the casuals on mobile, especially since there's talk of their own ecosystem. Problem with this is that the casuals on Mobile are already invested in tons of options that are already crowding the market, there's nothing Nintendo could actually do to take those people off mobile to a handheld. EWven if NX is a phone, and it's probably not, this audience won't budge over competition with tons of support.

Then of course, with the console portion of the "NX ecosystem" (assuming this OS they are proposing will run on the next handheld as well hence the above) we run into another problem. Again TP support will likely not be fixed, and of course the large part of the core crowd will not be levitating towards the console, especially since investment in PS4/X1 will be hitting the peaks around the time this system launched.

Then you have the issue if the casuals that buy home consoles. An android compatible OS is basically a more flexible version of the OUYA, why would casuals by an underpowered or similar powered system, which is compatible with android games (probable)? Yeah sure, Nintendos own games will be there, but that doesn't hold anything by itself.

The only possible way of potential success is QOL, if it's attached to the NX as a gimmick it could potentially sell at least half of the current Wii U figures. Issue is from what we have heard, and it's very little, QOL isn't actually a "device/hardware", and with the market grabbing most of the audiences, there's only so few groups left that Nintendo can grab that's left on the table.

Nintendo said that it wouldn't use an Android OS. We have zero info on the NX so such speculations are completely pointless.

I can picture a mass exodus of XBox fans to the NX. Third party releases will slow down for the XBone which leaves the door open for the new Nintendo to make a splash.

I think previous mistakes and releasing way too early for next gen guarantee it is dead on arrival. You won't get third party ( they will promise it), you will eventually be way underpowered (they will promise not) and the issues revolving around droughts will be just as bad as they are now.

I didn't say anything about them suing Nintendo OS, jumpy Nintendo fans in this forum. Theres a going around about NX being compatible with android, due to their "confirmed" mobile initiative. Or did people forget about that?

The fact that they focus on NX games already since they said officialy no more games for Wii U other than Zelda U ... lets wait and see. I think Nintendo will have an awesome NX release day 1 with games like Mario etc

You do realize that the Android OS is just an OS? If they use it the system itself can still be just as powerful if not more than a ps4. I have Nvidia Shield TV and it uses Android. It's also stronger than a PS4. It can easily play all games at 1080p 60fps.

Nintendo has not released any information about the NX other than it is a home console and that it does not use an Android OS. Until Nintendo officially reveals information about the NX, any info about the NX right now are just speculations and rumors.

Nintendo used the word console in one of the interviews. They also said compatibility with android if not mistaken.

If Nintendo can't properly support the Wii U until the end of 2016 then like hell I'm supporting the NX... however, in TC's case, Nintendo could have like three Metroid games released in 2016 and I still wouldn't buy it if it were a phone.

I think both of these posts have some merit.

They already officialy stated that there wont be more MARIO / KART / SMASH main series games for Wii U and that Zelda Wii U will be obviously the last of the big titles Wii U will see 1st party wise.

If you think Nintendo isnt working on new Mario already for NX or even a new KART/SMASH then you need to reconsider. I bet also Zelda Wii U will have an NX version on release or a bit after too.

prioritizing support for Wii U owners yet you wont see more mario/kart/smash is a marketing trick to sale as much Wii U consoles as possible before NX gets a release. MArketing trick if you like.
