The console's lifespan considered, that list is pretty short.
Fact: The SNES was riddled with shovelware and bad movie and sports games.
Fact: It was awesome nonetheless.
Hm. What does this remind me of?

Ooh! Ooh! I know!
The PS2? :P Awesome console, a ton of shovelware.

The PS2 would had been the best, but it had 3 flaws: Lots of shovelware that no one notices but me, inferior multiplats on most games(graphically at least), and last, IMO, it had the most overrated AAAEs(I enjoy Socom 2 more than most AAAEs), the SNES and PS1 had far less overrated AAAEs, so yeah.
Yep, i agree. the PS2 had the best and most diverse library.PS2 > SNES
That is my opinion.

its one of the greatest, but i still think the PS2 is the greatest console.

Yep no games console in history has matched the insane quality of the PS2's library.
I doubt we will ever see another console like it again. :(

Yeah, and that's a shame because I see a lot of potential in the current gen consoles, but I agree, I think the PS2's library won't be topped any time soon.snes had over 900 games in its library. clearly the best
but the PS2 has had 1900 games. snes had more great games tho. ps2 is a great system but in the end of the last genre all ppl gon remember is how xbox dominated it after fable was released. ps2 fallin off at the end is the reason the 360 lead over the ps3 is so big[QUOTE="GabeNewellsPie"][QUOTE="idontbeliveit"]

SNES = nothing but platformers and RPGs, couldn't help it being a 16-bit console though. Nostalgia keeps it alive but it doesn't stand the test of time. By the time the 360 is over, the 360 will be better.

I STRONGLY disagree with that. Sorry but imo the wii's library is so full of shovelware with the likes of wii music, wii fit and warioware. if it continues like this it'll never reach the PS2's library.snes had more great games tho. ps2 is a great system but in the end of the last genre all ppl gon remember is how xbox dominated it after fable was released. ps2 fallin off at the end is the reason the 360 lead over the ps3 is so big[QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="FnintendoWii"]but the PS2 has had 1900 games.AHUGECAT

the PS2 has more diversity, and more great games ;)Indeed. SNES has the greatest games ever. It's a shame the majority of gamers never played it, as much of the newer generation started with Playstation.

the PS2 has more diversity, and more great games ;)The PS2 had no western-type games (like WRPGs, RTS, FPS) - it had only half the diversity the Xbox 360 does.

SNES had a ton of fighting games, sports games, puzzle games, etc. A comment like that leads me to believe you've never played the SNES.I agree that it is one of my favorite consoles, but if there hadn't been a Famicom/NES, there might not have been an SNES.
Though, if there hadn't been an SNES, there probably wouldn't have been a Sony PlayStation (there's a connection between an unproduced SNES CD-ROM addon and what became the PlayStation).
SNES was the system that brought 3d gaming to our tv, along with helping to perfect 2d platforming. I played Wolfenstein 3d, and Doom on SNES before I had we had a PC. Along those lines, I will always remember the first time I played Star Fox - it looked amazing - I had never seen a game like that before.

I agree, Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter 2, Killer Instinct, NHL `94, NBA Live/NBA JAM, Yoshi's Cookie, Sim City, Lemmings all disagree with him. Also, Mario Kart disagrees with himsnes had over 900 games in its library. clearly the bestAD216
The PS2 can play all PlayStation games, along with all PS2 games - PS3 (systems with BC) can play all PlayStation and PS2 games.
- Does number of games determine best system?
I will put it another way, how many games are available to play on BC PS3 systems?
