Choose wisely..... cows... We all know how you like to shit on and disregard Flight Simulator for being a sim and yet we hear to no end how Gran Turismo is the best sim racer...

Well, which is it? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Who cares what cows think? They’re casuals who ‘play’ third person walking simulators interrupted with qtes and 20 minute cutscenes because you know, character development and story is hard core gaming.

I don't care, I just love how they fight against their own logic constantly and it always bites them in the ass down the road.

Incessant arguing about how Gran Turismo is a better sim than Forza, advocating for the sim to no end... And when Microsoft releases a sim which is an absolute banger?

One's a racing simulator and one's a flying simulator. Not exactly comparable. If it was just a driving simulator than I can see the comparison or if flight simulator have planes that you raced I'd understand. I don't think either are that fun but I can see why some people would like them.

It's comparable on the advocation of the sim itself, glorifying the accuracy of simulation on one hand while disregarding it for something else on the other. It doesn't matter what it is, it's just laughably dumb.

Flight simulator is something i really appriciate because its useful simulators if you want to persue you career in pilot. its excellent despite i will not play it.

Forza/GT are hybrid of racing and simulators and donot teach you how to drive a car.

Yeah, this whole "Flight Simulator is not a video game" nonsense is exactly that; nonsense. It's an interactive entertainment product played on an electronic device which people enjoy, therefore it is a video game. The slightly related "it's for passing flight exams" thing is equally nonsensical; many people who play the game will never fly a plane in their lives, and the game can be played on a single Xbox controller if you want to. No flight school is going shove a commercial license in your face just because you did a barrel roll with your analog sticks.

Maybe its a game with simulation elements? I haven't played it and probably wont as its not my thing but with Arma 3 people call it a military sim and its absolutely not. Its a game with elements of simulation.

I have no interest in either. My gut feeling is that GT is closer to the game side of the simulation/game spectrum. Perhaps only because racing is a more gamey-activity than flying an airplane.

Agreed. It is very hypocritical to hate one game for being a sim yet embrace another for the same thing. Personally I’m not a hardcore sim person but I do enjoy a few here and there and this one looks absolutely stunning and will be a nice addition to my gaming library when the XSX version comes out.

When people say they don't like "simulators" I think most of the time they haven't really engaged with them beyond a surface level.

It's a lot like fighting games where if you want the most out of it, you really must dedicate time and remove the school mentality of "learning bad". Learning is part of the fun.

There is also the fact the genres outside of those with the big name publishers tend to get blotched out of existing.

Never said that it’s unreasonable for someone to prefer racing cars as opposed to flying airplanes. So I’m definitely not “telling people what to like”.

I would rather play Gran Turismo or any simulation racing game over a flight sim any day... At least there is some competition and an end goal. Now if it was a sim of driving across the country for no reason without the ability to get out of your car... I'd rather play neither.

Just because something is a sim doesn't mean anything. It depends on what each offers, the amount of modes, competition, etc. Those farming games are sims and I tried them too... to me they are boring as hell, but I also feel other sim games like city builders/etc. are fun sometimes. It just depends on what you're doing and if it is an interest of yours. Personally I feel that flying around aimlessly is boring and I'd rather play Mr. Mosquito, but to each their own.

You defend Sony to the bone, I can count incidents where you outright downplayed because it's putting Sony/PS in a bad light. I have been involved at least in a couple of them my self. You're not just rabid like quad or tormentos.

A cow is a fanboy. Fanboys go beyond having a preference. I assume your preference is PC. But I wouldn't go as far as calling you a hermit since I don't usually see you fanboying about PC. I don't hide that I have a preference for Sony's console. But that doesn't stop me from liking and owning everything else.

Can you cite those instances where I defend Sony despite information to the contrary? Have you also not seen where I defend MS and advocate for PC gaming? How about the fact that I own a Switch and Switch Lite and praise Nintendo when they dominate Sony's sales numbers?

Sims like Flight Simulator is actually quite challenging and I get that it's not appealing to most people. But let me tell you, it's an absolute thrill for me to land an A320 on a runway without crashing or running off the runway.

And if I somehow get bored or frustrated with that, I just grab a stunt plane and fly through a major city.

Where did I say that you attack PC or MS? I already said you're not rabid like quad or tormentos. As for the instances: the ND TLOU2 and UC4 instance. You outright tried to deflect and get the thread locked. TLOU1, you tried to defend contrary to the information that they downgraded the encounter design and over sell it. You tried to downplay/reject the Epic engineer leak. You tried to downplay the recent RDNA1/2 tweet from a dev. You tried to defend Sony/PS5 on loading with me. You tried to downplay the throttling argument on PS5. Hell you tried to join Pedro over an argument about PC vs next-gen console sales because you probably considered it as an attack on PS5.

All of the above is motivated by your preference or whatever you want to call it. Haven't seen you going out of your way to do the same for Switch/PC/Xbox.

Most sims are pretty boring in general unless you are an enthusiast of that sport. Everyone wants/talks about MSFS because of the graphics and the idea of exploring the whole planet from above, nothing more. It's a slow....very slow paced thing. You fly around for 10 minutes drooling before you realize you want a change of scenery and end up loading a different airport. Only plane enthusiasts can really appreciate it.

Blue is definitely a cow. Go check his posting history as for the rest I don't know but since the last some days once lems used MSFS to attack TLOU/GoT, the cows have been pushing the narrative about simulators not counting. The TC is actually referring to all those threads not mine.
