[QUOTE="Blackbond"][QUOTE="springz300"] [QUOTE="FlashMan2006"]HD is not standard. The penetration rate is at around 30% so you're wrong. Plus, almost all of my buddies still have SDTVs I don't see them saying "Oh My God! This look ugly! I have to get an HDTV!!!" :lol:darthogre
HD IS STANDARD . Just because your buddies still play SDTV doesnt mean it isnt.
Its just expensive rite now. its standard, get over it.
HD isn't standard until HD broadcasts are standard.
maybe he means it's standard if you want to buy a current TV (which I have to admit most TV's are now HD). I go to Bestbuy and I can't remember seeing non-HD TV's although I could be wrong.
If you are referring to the HD broadcast signals, yeah they are not the standard signal yet. Congress keeps pushing it back every year it seems. It was I believe supposed to be standard by 2008, not sure anymore though. All I know is when the TV signal gets changed to HD, everyone who owns a non-HD TV has to pick up a converter so it decodes the signal to play on their TV. It'll be instresting when all this happens.
yes this is what i mean. THey think i mean everyone has to have one for it to be standard.
