Will Sega ever make another good game?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
ahhh your title brought back so many great memories of the 16bit era :)
Too bad Dreamcast wasnt supported as it deserved by gamers & devs.. such a great console as were Master System, Mega Drive and even Gamegear..
Saturn & Nomadhhmmm could have been supported/planned better..
Yakuza and hopefully a new after burner the one at the arcade is sooo goddamn addictive,Aswell as outrun 3 but a man can only dream of the latter 2 right now :(Will Sega ever make another good game?

VC, Yakuza are great titles... VC2 & Bayonetta look interesting.. the real question is when will Nintendo start releasing new IP's and not sequels/titles for 20+ year old franchises..
Ok then. When will Nintendo start releasing new IP's and not sequels/titles for 20+ year old franchises?
Jelley0
by the looks of it, not soon...

Nintendo has new IP's... :?care to list the ones for Wii? mind you I said games not mini 'tests' for the motion sensing like WiiSports or else sorry excuse for training like Wii Fit..
I would prefer it if they kept it this way. It's what makes them different and besides, those sequels are always great. I wouldn't want to see Nintendo make FPS games like the others...Ok then. When will Nintendo start releasing new IP's and not sequels/titles for 20+ year old franchises?

But yeah, Nintendo hasn't got a REAL new IP since 2001 (Unless you count Geist, but no, please don't)Ok then. Dreamcast was one of my favorite systems ever. Nobody friggin bought it, which was a shame. It had some awesome games, and probably my most memorable launch of any system.well they developed my GOTY....Empire total war. yes its made by the creative assembly but they are owned by sega...they are a first party dev to sega so to speak. as long as sega continue to write checques for CA to make total war games...sega will be doing fine by me. looking forward to napoleon also.osan0

Because the thread was originally about Sega, not Nintendo's IPs.

sega actually make some pretty good games these days, theyre just terrible at presenting a good front because they fall back on sonic, which completely sucks. id love to see them pushing valkyria chronicles but i guess it doesnt cash in as nicely.

people's complaints about Nintendo having to release new IP's is silly. think about it
they have a great set of AAA franchises... of which they release new iterations that are AAA as well.... whats the problem here, you dont like AAA games?

Wii sports franchise. I would ask if you are happy now but I am sure you are not because there isn't a bunch of Nintendo games with M-ratings.
Sega are actually doing great on many levels if you can ignore Sonic Team. Some of the games they have published and are coming out this gen have been amazing or look great like, Condemned 1 & 2, Madworld, Alpha Protocol, End of Eternity, Bayonetta, Infinite Line etc. Not only that but they have made some great titles like the amazing Valkyria Chronicles with an upcoming PSP sequel, Yakuza not to mention the kickass megadrive / Genesis collection for the 360 and PS3. So actually for me they are doing 100 times better then last gen, now if Sonic team would just have died with Yuji Naka leaving then it would all be good. Will Sega ever make another good game?
Jelley0
lol the dreamcast produced more quality games in its 2 year life cycle than any other console in history

The reason I included Wii Sports, etc. is because if you decide to remove the games you don't like (or even genuinely crappy games) then you'd have to remove at least half of everyone's list and then it gets all subjective and messy and nobody's happy.

almost all of segas games are amazing still, only one that has fallen from its previous glory days is Sonic.

[QUOTE="Jelley0"]Haven't they been doing that non stop this gen?Nintendo had 41 New IPs on the DS. They have 14 new IPs for the Wii not released but announced They only had 3 released because on the Wii not counting Wiiware. I count Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, Wii Chess, and Wii Music as one IP.Ok then. When will Nintendo start releasing new IP's and not sequels/titles for 20+ year old franchises?

gears 2 is exclusive.dragonfly110
But Gears of War isn't an exclusive IP. And we were talking about IPs, not games.

It's a tangential continuing of the conversation in which you were taking a part. I apologize if I offended you by including your comment in a quote.I think Sega would get more respect if they give Sonic to Dimps. Dimps seem to have better ideas on what Sonic fans want.
