Rumor: Gran Turismo 6 reveal just a few weeks away

Electronics specialist retailer Newegg has a listingfor the as-yet-unrevealed title, clearly stating PS3 as the destination platform, but is void of any further information.

This comes after SCEE senior vice-president Michael Denny appeared to have let slip that Gran Turismo 6 will remain a PS3 title, despite the looming launch of the PlayStation 4 in "holiday 2013".

CVG understands that Sony is weeks away from revealing its next Gran Turismo title.

Grand Turismo 6 was announced in 2010 when series creator Kazunori Yamauchi talked openly about the project in an interview. No official release date is set.

My response to this topic if you are Brofists:  Gran Turismo is just another garbage series from Sony that nobody even knows about.  Daytona USA is a much better game and Forza is millions of light years ahead of GT in every way.  PS:  Gears is better than Uncharted.

My real response:  Cool, cant wait!  I poured so many hours into GT5.  LOVE the game.  Just hope they greatly improve the menus and overall interface.

Without backwards compatibility it just seems stupid to launch this game without plans to put it on the PS4 at least in some form.

I get that it'll have a few million people to buy it if they launch it on the PS3, but Gran Turismo doesn't just sell 10 million copies in a month or two, and then die off. It seems like it'd hurt the sales of the game to have it compatible with a last gen system that many people won't care about after the PS4 launches.

I believe there are millions of gamers out there who are more willing to buy a system if it has backwards compatibility. Most people love new hardware, but new hardware is less appealing if they're going to still find themselves having to play on old systems anyways. I'm willing to bet that a PS4 compatible GT6 would drive PS4 sales even if the game could also be played on PS3.

I honestly loved it.  I get it, there were a lot of negative aspects to the game and considering how long it was in development all of that sh*t should have been ironed out.

But on the track, the game was great!

It deserves a lot of the negative reception it got, but I think it got blown out of proportion on SW just because cows hyped it to unbelievable levels (as they always do with exclusives).

Hopefully Polyphony has been listening to the gamers and GT6 will address the issues.

I said it should of been on the PS4 in an old thread, but it's been in development too long. It is a complete waste, especially because it means it could be a while before you see a PS4 version. But I don't think Sony has a choice at this point. They can't move it.

Sony should have planned better, it would have been a game changer to have GT6 anywhere near the launch of the PS4.

Oh man, I would be so pumped with hype when they reveal GT6! That alone would be enough to convince me to buy a PS4, if it's coming to PS4.

The success in sales is attributed by hype and quality of previous titles. All Sony outlets were showing GT trailers and it really got car buffs pumped up. However, I've never quite heard any positive feedback from anyone who played the game. GT5 might be to GT6 what the Wii is to the Wii U. Just sayin'
