Anybody else play this today? I like it. It's familiar, but not the same, which is good. It's not hard to play, but you do need to be careful in dark areas. I say this because I was looking at impression videos before the demo came out, and I wondered if these people even played a modern RE game, not taking advantage of the quick turn to run to safety. They were garbage.

It's like the RE2 I always wanted, where you're not safe behind closed doors, and you can actually knife a downed zombie in a corner without your knife bouncing off a wall, which was one of the most annoying design elements of the original game. It's RE2 that's appropriately up to date. The graphics are amazing as well. Marvin Branagh, got a great character model this time. Can't wait for the final game.

Not even gonna bother with the Demo. I wanna go in fresh and I already know what I'm getting at this RE2 remake since I did play the original 20 year ago.

Just tried it again... doesn't look like it. They push toward the store to pre-order it.

Yeah, I just used my thirty minutes. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy this for my PlayStation instead of my PC when the time comes. The rear speakers added a lot of atmosphere that my PC's stereo setup just doesn't have.

@ezekiel43: You don't like using headphones? But of course, playing any Horror game on PC with monitor+headphones adds fear when you are playing a really good horror game adds immersion in my opinion.

@davillain-:

I really wanna check out the demo but the 30 minute one-shot deal is a huge turn off. I like to enjoy my games. I don't wanna be rushed.

You can create other accounts on your systems to play the demo again. Each account gets 30 minutes.

I've played all kind of games, including horror, with headphones. I prefer my speakers. Sound should have space. This is the one drawback of having my PC set up at a table/desk, like a normal person. No huge TV and no seven speaker setup. I could drag my PC to the living room every time, but that would be too much of a hassle.

You finally wanna talk about a game, and it's a one-try 30 minute demo.

No.

It did give me a good impression. I agree that the time limit is lame, though. What happened to normal demos?

I just "finished" the demo at around 28 minutes. I haven't taken a lot of routes btw. And the timer works. I'm still at 30 minutes of playtime haha.

I can't wait to play this game after playing the demo on my PC and PS4. The only thing that bothered me besides the annoying time limit is the colors look washed out. Somehow the colors seemed to look better on my PS4 then PC don't know how that is. But I'm still going to go with the PC version I'm sure I can tweak it to look better. I love the atmosphere in this game I just want to stare and read everything and take it in nostalgia plays a big part no doubt the wait is almost over.

True. Good thing you can do some reshade stuff on PC. Colors are a bit dead, but I think it's just for the atmosphere. Too bad reshade doesn't work on DX12

Just played the demo and It feel good. the controlling and gameplay is major improvement over previous third person RE games.

its actually better than RE4 and 5 by far. although it doesnot feel scary or horror at all unlike RE7. i doubt i will like it more than RE7.

Are those screenshots PC and PS4 or with a change in setting on PC?

I really enjoyed the demo. I finished it in 18 minutes and then just finished off my 30 minute total with another quick jaunt around. It looks and plays great, and the atmosphere is brilliant. I hate to say it, but this is what I feel RE7 should have been. I took all the worst parts of 5 and 6 and threw them out of the window.

It's my opinion. You can feel free to disagree with it, but I did not enjoy RE7 (in fact, I barely could get into the game) and much preferred more traditional Resident Evil games.

Played it last night. It's kinda funny... I played the hell out of the original (was out of work with chicken pox so that's all I did) so part of me really wants to get this game, because I have a feeling it'll be a fantastic remake of an amazing game. But the other part of me doesn't want to put up with the aiming. I hate wasting ammo in survival horror games. RE4 and REVII in PSVR made aiming so much better. It's really hard to go back to sticks.

I loved it. Original Resident Evil 2 is the best in the series and Capcom has outdid themselves with the remake.

Fair enough I supposed. I just can't work with Speakers, I want maximum sound in my hears and it's why I always use headphones.

There is a trainer that lets you reset the 30 min timer on PC. I just played through the demo a couple of times with it and it works.

Just played the PC demo. I was please by all the graphics options, including the ability to turn off horrible chromatic abberation. I guess I will get it on PC, and just park my PC in the living room during the days I play it. I really wish I had two PCs, but money. I also noticed that the PC version has Atmos (support for height speakers), giving me another incentive.

Was watching someone play on mixer last night and it looks everything I expected it to be. Graphically brilliant with improved controls can't wait to pick this up and play through it all over again. The First 2 are the pinnacle of survival horror games.

I might actually pick this up on PS4 instead of PC not sure yet but the colors just look more vibrant on my PS4. And for nostalgic sake since I played the original on PS1. 99 percent of the time I hate aiming with the gamepad but since RE2 isn't a twitch shooter it really isn't a issue as much. Also I like the boxart so owning a physical copy is a plus for me still not sure though first world problems I guess lol.

I don't normally bother playing demo's, but decided to give this one a try since I may just buy it at launch, the first time I'm bought a game at launch or at full price in over 10 years. I....I actually enjoyed it. Loved the atmosphere and it definitely felt intense as I was exploring the station, a feeling I haven't felt since playing The Evil Within. Only 2 things I didn't like about the demo but is most likely just exclusive to the demo version:

Locked language. I had no choice but to ride with the default French language since the option to choose a different one was greyed out.

Had issues getting the game to full-screen mode. Actually choosing the full-screen option in the menu did nothing but kept it in window mode. The borderless window option was the only option that was able to get it into full-screen mode but every other option was windowed.

Other than that, I enjoyed the experience while it lasted. I didn't bother going all the way with the demo as I stopped around the 6 minute mark. I just wanted to get the feel of the game and judge rather if it will retain the original feel of the game or butcher it with the over the shoulder perspective. From what I seen, they've done a great job...

And this game is gonna shake the industry, even more than the original RE remake a few years back. I can already feel the tremor coming!

I have never played the original R2 and I don't know much about it but after watching some of the brief game play I can only assume it takes place in Racoon City. What I have seen looks solid and not needing of a demo to make a decision on a purchase.

I'm gonna have to try this on PS4 to see how it looks. It's just the frame rate on the base consoles is pretty bad from tests I've seen. It's PC all the way for me.

I just finished Resident Evil 1 HD recently - my first ever Resident Evil and horror game. Looking back at Resident Evil 1 HD, it was quite easy to evade zombies/monsters.

Played Resident Evil 2 Demo yesterday, I like it. It was not as scary as I thought it would be, considering I watched the gameplay before the demo was released. One thing that bugged me is how you go from one room to another, and zombies still chase you. Guess it will be something I will have to get used to.

That's the best thing about it for me. A zombie that can learn to open a door is the most dangerous zombie of all. ? Plus, it's a pretty good strategy if you have enough ammo to kill them in one spot.
