DS because it has better games. I own both though so w/e I like them both but rarely use PSP.
*looks at my sig* DS, no doubt.IronBassHa, I agree.
Better puzzle games, better side scrollers, better RPG games, etc etc.
I'm gonna have to give it to the DS HOWEVER I love the Megaman X remake on the PSP. They really did a nice job remixing those songs. For everything else though I find that the money spent on PSP games just isn't entirely worth it. Many of their hyped up action games are pretty short like God of War, and the like. Not going to spend $40 on that.
i'm going to say ds because of all the great games that have been coming out. the psp does have good games but compare to the ds,it does not even come close
Lastly, the PSP has better and advanced games.3ghostman2Matter of opinion, and most reviewers would not share your opinion.
I'm constantly amazed at the depth and breadth of the DS' library. The PSP seems to have a decent selection, but it can't rival the DS, especially since it's confined to conventional control.
The consoles seem to cover two different sets of genres, though, which of course makes the PSP more attractive to some people.
This.I haven't touched my DS since Zedla, Phantom's Hourglass. Ever since i've been on my psp playing final fantasy crisis core, patapon, medal of honors heroes 2, socom, star wars force unleashed. Theres so many games. Plus I listen to music and watch movies on it as a bonus.
DS is ok, but I only liked playing pokemon diamond. Actully thats probably the only reason I got the DS.
PSP has my vote.
KINGDOM HEARTS BIRTH by SLEEP, when is it cominggg???
The only game I enjoyed on my DS was Super Mario 64 DS before selling it. Few months later I bought a PSP and never looked back.
Japanese titles are just not my thing. The PSP has so many great games, the only people who say it lacks them, are trolls.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot: GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES, MAME, Atari and even N64 emulation, custom games, downloadable content, mods, custom software, etc.
[QUOTE="my_name_is_ron"]The DS has too many RPGs thats why i prefer the PSP plus the new psp is not big and clunky it's comfortable in your hand. Uh, the PSP is larger than the DS(referring to mass/size when closed) and is just as clunky. Try again.i prefer the ds. it's focused more on gaming. the psp is a fairly decent multimedia machine but it's big and clunky and ipods/iphones do music, video and internet better

I don't understand this at all. The PSP has not had an AAA in a year and yet people defend it to no end almost equalling the love for the DS (a system that already has 2 AAA's this year).
If this thread was about the Wii, no one would understand people defending the Wii. Apparently, Gamespot is only law when it comes to the Wii.
I have both "systems", 36 games for DS, 8 games for PSP (and the only one on the psp that keeps me hooked is MHF2)
Shooters: Metroid Prime hunters better than Resistance retribution (psp still w/o second nub = embarassing)
Fighters: Jump Ultimate Stars better than Dissidia (in every category except of course in graphics)
Music: Ouendan/EBA better than DJ max series (patapon was ok, but definitely not worth a 9)
Racing: Mario Kart way better than wipeout (also in online)
RPGs: Both equal, but too many psp remakes
Action: The DS hasZelda: PH, 3 castlevanias, etc. -but theDS doesn't have monster hunter-(God of War CoO and Ninja Gaiden DS were both only 5 hours long, good, but not worth 35-40 bucks)
And all those niche titles like Pheonix Wright, Prof. Layton, TWEWY, etc. tip the scale favoring the DS
Don't get me wrong the psp is great (I didn't own a ps2, so I'm happy for all the remakes), but in terms of originality, online, and overall fun, the DS wins
I love the DS and the PSP but I love the DS more because it has loads of games and it doesnt try to be a be all and do all machine. If the PSP mastered all the multimedia stuff then it would be great but there isnt a single thing it does that is better than what an iphone could do nor does it do it as well as an iphone or itouch.
I prefer the PSP. I just like more involved, console-like games, and I love all the features (music, video, internet, etc.). And the homebrew is awesome. The homebrew alone makes the PSP better IMO

1. Its all an opinion. I haven't played my DS that much after I got my PSP tbh. The scale of the games in the PSP is just bigger and better.
2. Both systems cater on to different gamers. You won't see something the scale of Monster hunter or Phantasy Online on the DS but neither can you see anything like TWEWY on the PSP. Its too vastly different to compareIMO.
3. One of the AAA is not THAT deserving IMO. Well you can say the DS has just lucked in on GS' inconsistency but it really doesnt matter in opinion polls like these.
4. The PSP is alsodoing wellso far this quarter. Star Ocean 2, DJM Fever, Prinny, Phantasy Star and Resistance are some of em.
I got really annoyed with the DS after it brang out crappy games for babies and adults so I sold it for the PSP.
But then I didn't realise GTA: Chinatown Wars was going to be amazing.
But for me it's the PSP.
These arguments have been going on for years.
- Mega Drive vs. SNES.
- PS1 vs. N64.
- PS2 vs. XBOX.
- XBOX 360 vs. PS3.
- PSP vs. DS
Whenever this type of argument crops up, many focus on hardware capabilities and console sales figures to justify their love for their console of choice. Why? Why does it matter what anyone else thinks if you're happy with what you own? For me, it's always about the games themselves. It's generally a single game that sells a new console, but the range that sells it after a time. I tend to suggest that people buy the console that has the largest range of games in 'their field of interest'. There's no point owning the 'coolest' console or the one with the more impressive hardware, if that particular console has none of the games that you like... This seems obvious, but it does get overlooked.
I love my PSP. It has a large variety of some of my all time favourites, including Ridge Racer, Tekken, Wipeout, GTA, Fight Night, Ricky Ponting Cricket, Pro Evo Soccer, Mega Drive Classics, Capcom Classics, Midway Classics, etc.
The DS however, has nothing I'm interested in.
It is for this reason and this reason alone, that the PSP gets my vote.
[QUOTE="MrSlippery39"]Same here i can't find any racing or action games worth playing on the DS excluding mario kart ds. There are these games called Castlevania in the title maybe you have heard of them. I here they are great 2d action.PSP has more games that I actually like. The DS is just too JRPGish for me.
