As were the GBA, GBA SP, PS3 Slim, DS Lite, DS, DSi, DSi XL, Xbone S, PS2 Slim, PS2, PSOne, PS, 360 S, 360, Gamecube, Panasonic Q, and many other items throughout history were counted as different products. The Pro would be no different, including the different price points on these products.

Oh haven't you heard guys like quacknight are calling it the PS4 "family" now, so it doesn't matter if the Pro sells badly it will never be a failure because of teh "family" but if it sells like hot cakes you can bet your arse there will be Pro sales numbers everywhere on here.

A bit surprising this early in the cycle. I can see Pokemon though driving 3DS hardware sales.

But Xbone only had 128 units sold. I called 12K+ a success in comparison.

the new 3ds ll has super improved head tracking 3D. and a faster cpu for faster menu navigation. some games run slightly better.

actually the 94k was the pro and standard together from last week. so its not really that much of a drop for the standard. more like from 32k to 25k. pro was a huge drop. 60k to 12k.

Not really when its a new system (technically) with all the hype surrounding it and its older inferior version sold twice as much.

And comparing it to XBO sales in Japan is kinda sad, as the Xbox has never sold well in japan.

PS4 Pro is more or less in line with my expectations tbh. Slim should be the main driver everywhere, with the Pro doing anywhere from ~20% to ~50% of it's sales per month ( I honestly feel this will be the case WW after launch numbers).

In all seriousness did anyone expected big numbers for the Pro? It's design for those with a 4K tv and that market in itself is niche. People with 1080 displays have no business getting a Pro unless they are planning to go 4K soon.

It was never meant to outsell the OG PS4. Also, Sony themselves will combine PS4 and PS4 Pro sales since they are both under the same brand of hardware.

People need to stop looking at the PS4 Pro as a successor, it isn't.

Pro is almost sold out in Japan i don't think Sony even thought about pro being a big seller in Japan so they are under shipping it.

Many figured that it being the PS4 successor and all that it should have toppled the charts. I see they are collecting dust and easy to find here in the states too.

Exactly unless you have some extra money lying around + maybe a 4k TV then i see no reason to get it, yes there is some difference in IQ when you play some of the patched games even on 1080 TVs but really after 30 minutes you won't even care about it.

Nintendo is poised to do well this holiday season here in the states too. Pokemon and a $100 3ds is an attractive offer. And the NES classic looks popular.

Will be interesting to see how it ends up..... FF15 is a good console mover for the twins.

Yeah I waited to see how the pro will turn out, but honestly I just cannot see myself spending this much money on a console. I don't mind spending $500 on a console and a few games, but $500 for only the console, nah I can't. Truth be told I'm still not sold on current gen. I can't buy a whole console just to play Final Fantasy XV.

Instant lost Pro sales since there is a PS4 Persona 5 bundle on the market, and Persona 5 is not getting a Pro patch.

The numbers for any of the home consoles are not impressive at all. I don't see nothing wrong with the Pro numbers in that context. Also, how is it surprising that the cheaper PS4 sold more than the Pro?

Handheld and phone games are so much more popular in Japan, the Vita sections of stores are pretty massive.

Considering the taste the Japanese have developed in games and hardware this isnt a surprise. This is exactly the reason most of there games are about 10 years behind western developers. They support hardware like the 3ds.

Come again? Since the PS4 Pro is a PS4 the number for the week is just under 40,000 units. That's pretty good for Japan. In fact, it's better than everything else on that list by a long shot.

Kinda makes sense for japan and where console business is at, at the moment. Console iterations shouldn't make any sense there. Ps3 still the market for f**k sake. We will keep getting cross gen games or old engines in this day and age from japan. The title should be Ps4 continues to lead the declining console market in Japan.
