Was thinking the same thing. There are games PS4 CANT get 1080p on. But if it makes cows happy, sure you guys are up there. The rest of us will enjoy games on any platform.

PS4 doesn't need AMD Mantle since it has already has it's own low level/light weight APIs for it's GCN.

The main purpose for AMD Mantle is to bring "console like APIs" to the PC. It's NOT logical to bring AMD's Mantle "console like APIs" to consoles. Think about it....

1. FLOPS is about 3X

2. ROPS count = 2X

3. Memory bandwidth = 1.8X

4. Triangle rate = 2.5X

5. Fast local data storage (SRAM) = 2.4X

6. Fast L1 cache storage (SRAM) = 2.4X

7. TMU count = 2.4X

8. L1 bytes per cycle rate (for CU scratch space) = about 3X (R9-290X at 1Ghz)

and console gamers wont care. i dont sit 1 feet from my TV so 1080p is enough for me. it would be hard for me to notice 4k unless i get up close.

I highly doubt anyone who has chosen to go mainly PC gaming, did so with low specs. I have a dell laptop and all I can play from steam is Half Life, Deus Ex and the like. No "hermit" is playing PC games on low spec hardware. Defeats the purpose of being a hermit.

bf4 looks pretty good on ps4. too bad the controller sucks balls. if only those idiots would give full kb/m support or at least a controller (like 360 or xbone) with real triggers and a left thumbstick in the proper place.

It’s rubbish that you can’t see the difference at 1080p on a TV. I sit around 8 feet from my 47" TV. I can switch between 720p and 1080p on my laptop when it's hooked up to the TV running games and it's certainly noticeable. Everything is much sharper. I also have pretty bad vision, short sighted with very bad astigmatism in one eye.

PS4 is very powerful for the money but it just doesn't compete with high end PC hardware. Why people feel the need to argue that it does I don't know!

it's not on the same level as pc. it has some advantages like unified memory and some disadvantages like static hardware which forever limits the power aka religious influence.

pc master race is a bogus term and i don't like it because adolf hitler had a master race. let's be egalitarian. plus what's the point in calling yourself 'master race' if, really, one wants everyone pc gaming anyway? "oh it's this exclusive club - please join"

900p, not rock solid 60FPS and only high settings on a current gen game sure sounds like it stands on the same level as PC...

Umm. Switching settings isn't switching your display from 720p to 1080p. Its using to your native resolution regardless since you can't magically change your televisions resolution. If you notice a significant change, all it means is your television sucks ass at scaling. But put a similar spec 720p set side by side with your 1080p set and you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

PS4 are still second to PC on graphics and behind Xbox one on everything else.

BF4 is at 900P.
