ps3 is way overpriced

as a gaming machine; yes, cuz theres no good games that arent on other platforms, and the hardware is still worse for gaming than a machine thats 200 less.

as a "next gen" format player; yes, cuz blu ray and hd dvd are minimally better than dvd9. neither format justifies the cost.

Correction 900$ manufacturing cost....And it is a bit expensive for what it has to offer....Hopefully in the future it'll get better

The ps3 is way over priced. I know that it may include a blue-ray player which cost like 0ver 1000 dollars but still, a game system should not cost over 500 dollars!!! I know that Sony is considering a price drop and they should definately do it because I am thinking about a ps3 but would never pay 600 dollars for it!footballrha8

The videogame part is overpriced though you can't argue that. The 360 graphics are equal or better then most PS3 games so far and I don't think the PS3 is going to get any better during it's entire lifespan.

Well, this is regarding the system as a whole.

That's why the PS3 is #3 and will be for some time. Sony made the PS3 the Trojan horse for the Blu-Ray format. The most expensive part in the PS3 is the Blu-Ray drive I believe.

If PS3 didnt have Blu-Ray player, just standard DVD, it would be $350 or$400 and it would be selling like hot-cakes on a coner.

Personally I would have bought one at that price. even without the movie player and the dreaded Cell processor, just as long as it could deliver my games, like the 360 is doing.
