Haven't played it, but I'm a western RPG fan over JPG's, so obviously I'm going to prefer the better versions of RPG's like the witchers, MEs, elder scrolls, fallouts etc on PC.blue_hazy_basicI'm playing Witcher 2 right now, taking a break from elder scrolls...but man try it out. It sucks you in.
Maybe. I still have yet to play it as well as Xenoblade and The Last Story.
Tales of Vesperia was the best JRPG for me this gen (though Radiant Historia on the DS gave it a run for its money).
That said I'm fully expecting Tales of Xillia to live up to my self-defined hype (hint, extremely high).
I need to pick up xenoblde honestly. I have no excuse.Maybe. I still have yet to play it as well as Xenoblade and The Last Story.

I prefer western RPG's and since the PS3 does not have The Witcher 2, the Fable games, and the 360 has the better versions of the Mass Effect games I will have to say no.
I have zero desire to play JRPG's. I find nothing exciting about men who look like girls and a story a 12 year old could better. Plus the last time I checked people seem to like Lost Oddyssey and Blue Dragon. You would have to ask them which JRPG is better I suppose.

Well, you do have one. The price has sky rocketed.
Well since the Witcher 2 or Dark Souls are easily considered the top 2 I'd say it potentially shares the best rpg of this gen with other platforms or no it doesn't
I still have to get this. Not a big fan of anime or JRPGs but this games looks wonderful.
No it's demon's soulsthemajormayor
Game of the gen.
[QUOTE="whiskeystrike"]I need to pick up xenoblde honestly. I have no excuse. Well I don't own a Wii so there's mine :pMaybe. I still have yet to play it as well as Xenoblade and The Last Story.

Lol I just checked that. I'll get it anyway. Not hurting for money.having played most of the rps this gen, i think it really is a contender for the best rpg, i will hve to finish it to see if it really is.
Loved games like witcher 2 and dragon age but this game is just superior.

RPG thread, not Action Adventure.
:|Game mechanics are action adventure the story is, oh wait, what story?
It's closer to zelda than it is to Wizardry.
[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"]Console sure in Valkyria Chronicles but DS & PSP are home to the best the JRPG genre has to offer. PC is the home of the best the WRPG genre has to offer.0rbsVC was awesome but that dialogue killed me.
Ni No Kuni has a beautiful artstyle and a better then average story for JRPG but the gameplay isn't top notch IMO. Valkyria Chronicles really took the JSRPG genre to the next level. The story is better then average and characters are decent (some stereotypes but it's a JRPG.). It boils down to gameplay and VC is just better then NNK IMO. Next up would be the Tales Games of which PS3 has all of them Tales Of Graces, Tales Of Vesperia & Tales Of Xillia I & II.
360 has Lost Odyssey but that game is weak outside of the amazingly written dream sequences.
When it comes to JRPG's though the DS & PSP have no competition.

You have stats that you can upgrade as well as weapons and armor. That makes it an RPG.

You play Ni No Kuni all the way through yet?[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]If I want to play The Witcher series or Bethesda games...I won't punish myself and play them on console ;).Nah, 360 has The Witcher2 and Lost Odyssey, two amazing rpgs ps3 does not have.
Also 360 has the best versions of Bethesda games.

Actually the Witcher 2 on 360 is fantastic. Better than PC in some ways. From an asset point of view, not gameplay.

Go home, you're drunk. They went in and cleaned up a lot of their assets on the 360 version where it could look bad on PC, and completely re-did the color pallet. (Even though that is based on preference, the 360 version is consistent throughout)
Obviously PC version has 1080p, less LOD pop in, and 4x the textures and poly's, but on an consistency and artistic level, the 360 version is the definitive version. I'm only saying that in that way, the 360 version is better, the PC version is still better overall visually.Â
But they're very comparable.
And I don't drink. I won't assume you're drunk because you like that steaming pile that is Elder scrolls, it wouldn't be nice.
Haven't played it, but the PS3 does have Demon's Souls.
On the other hand, it's missing out on stuff like The Witcher 2, Lost Odyssey, The Last Story, Xenoblade, etc.
It's been a pretty good gen for RPGs all around, but everyone console is generally missing something special.

Calling someone a drunk troll because they think and analyze isn't very nice either.
