According to our information, the announcement is scheduled for 23 August with a launch in stride Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK in the first place, while the United States and Canada should be able to enjoy a week later. availability dates for France or Japan are known at present, but it is already acquired it takes at least a PC running Windows 7, an internet connection at 5 MB / s or more and a joystick Compatible (preferably a DualShock 4) to enjoy 300 games catalog from their computer. Available since 2014 in North America and 2015 in Europe and Japan, the monthly subscription to PS Now currently costs 17 euros in France.

Ok for those that already have it on PS4.

But the PS3's handful of games? amazing....

Not interested in streaming games. Now if Sony opened a store similar to Steam, Uplay, Origin etc where you could buy and download games i'd be interested. As long as they're decent ports.

I'd be delighted if they put their PSN shop on PC. Make a PC platform that includes the Vue and Now options and you got a foundation for a robust PC ecosystem that stands out from everything else. Sony shifting to services will be great once its finally done.

So PS3 turned out to have even fewer exclusives than Xbox 360 in the end.

This is interesting news but the internet connection required means that very few countries would be able to access it. I do have a 5mb/s connection but that is so rare in my country that they probably won't even bother bringing the service here.

I completely agree with you.

Streaming has way too many downsides. But I don't see Sony doing any porting of big projects soon.

If true, that would throw all those exclusives out the window too. Yikes. Looks like MS and Sony are looking to embrace multiple platforms to bring in more software revenue. Smart move.

Didnt they say that they would bring it to PC years back?

I think it got overshadowed when people saw the payment plans and prices, PS NOW is not really worth it because of the prices and rental times.

But they have some pretty good game there, Resistance 3 Killzone 3 are games I want to get into again.

Like crap honestly. It's like playing games on YouTube. If the conection is not stable then resolution may go from acceptable to an absolute pixelated mess, well basicaly it's like streaming videos in Auto quality.

@kvally: A streaming service of old games is hardly embracing new platforms. Sony will continue with there own ecosystem.

@loe12k:

PS NOW runs as good as your Internet connection allows. If it really is available for PC, it would definitely be worth looking into! Though since it's streaming and not download, don't expect any graphic upgrades.

If that is what you want to believe, that's cool. Doesn't take away from the fact that if this does come to fruition, that they are now no longer exclusive because you can play them on PC now. Instead of the game being downloaded, it's the same game streamed over the internet instead of over your hard drive. So it looks like they are continuing to embrace more and more systems outside of Sony, including Microsoft Windows. Great news for all gamers alike. It is a win win.

Good move it true but still far from the long term real objective and that is the ability to play any game one any system once the system is capable. This and Xbox Play Anywhere are the future of gaming. Gaming should be platform independent.

My experience with the trial sub was pretty favorable, in truth. I am not interested, being that I want to own ("own" - such as the true rights to the content actually are) my games, but even over wifi and middling connection speed I didn't have any issues. That being said, I doubt this is good for twitch shooters or fighting games. Fine for more laid back platformers or basically any kind of RPG or puzzler where lag is not a major concern. My experience was the lag was barley noticable

I was expecting Eastern Europe or an ex-soviet state. I know Greece has had problems (slight under statement) over the last few years but I thought the infra structure would be better developed than that.

@kvally: those games haven't been exclusive since they've been on the service. Nothing has changed but the fact that it'll be available on PC.

@GarGx1: The standard internet speed here is 24mbps in name which usually ranges from 8 to 20mbps actual speed. The ADSL1 cable network is actually not in great shape due to cutbacks in maintenance costs. The ADSL2 network is pretty new and not even all areas of the capital have it yet. It lets consumers go as high as 50mbps which is a bit above the minimum Playstation Now requires. The good news is that speeds are pretty consistent and I my connection reaches over 5mb/s download speeds for http downloads like Steam.

However given that ADSL2 is pretty expensive and 8mbps is plenty if you just want to browse the internet, like most people do, not many people opt to pay for it. Coupled with the fact that the areas where it's available are limited means that only a very small percentage of the population has the minimum internet requirements for Playstation Now. If they pick and chose which countries they'll release it too, it's very possible they'll just skip Greece.

Yes, this is the future of consoles. A lot of gamers did not believed me that PS Now would come to PC. Forget the crap of upgradeable consoles. It will be PS Now the next Playstation. I was right all along the console hardware is over, Sony and Microsoft new consoles will be gaming services ?

This will be great for the handful of Playstation games I want to play as I cant justify the expense of another platform just for a few games.

I thought Sony sold off their PC division Vaio and their PC gaming division sony entertainment online? Why does sony want to crawl back into the PC space? They said they were all about mobile phones and such.

Microsoft and windows 10 welcomes sony back to their market place, this is a bad move for PS4 and the playstation brand a good win for microsoft and windows.
