@SolidGame_basic: Personally i dont and i can backup why not instead of say " i dont like it " or "its sad" BS.
First of all what Overwatch really is ? Its a polished TF2 clone dressed Blizzard. Even the most blind blizzard fanboy will agree to that. Basically , majority of Overwatchers dont even know TF2 . I wont be surprised that majority of them , if they ever watch TF2 will say " this is like overwatch". Anyways...
Now where is my problem with this specific game being GOTY. First of all , despite of being undeniable polished on the gameplay aspect which is the most fun and crucial thing in game of this genre it had balance issues ( dont even know if it still has ) and above all it lacked serious content for its price. Those 2 are facts noone can deny as well , so lets move on.
Some might jump on me and start the usual BS like before like " Omfg Azatis , wtf is wrong with you. Game was polished and gameplay on point unlike any other game , who cares if it lacks/lacked content. Its definitely GOTY you hater " etc ... And because i had those debates in the past and i know some might even thinking it right now , before you say something let me ask you this.
Didnt STREET FIGHTER 5 had super polished gameplay unlike any other fighting game out there while lacked content ? Everyone , literally , shoot that game on the feet for lacking content for its price. I was one of them as well , despite of liking the game like no other SF before it , it was a sad truth about it. Period
But when Overwatch released with the same issue as SF5 , lacking content / having its minor issues suddenly everyone forgot about content to value ratio that made Street Fighter 5 a BAD game ( it wasnt even a GOTY candidate ) and was only about polished gaming and extraordinary gameplay for 59.99$. Everyone suddenly shit their pants for playing the very same modes other games offering for free , lacking of single player and modes plus other minor various things while game being a TF2 copycat at the same time !!! Noone gave a shit , including critics about anything OW was lacking ...period.
Personally i had Overwatch as AA title ( 85s something ) , nothing wrong with the game. It plays smoothly , its fun and all but we need to be fair to everyone here. Its for a reason why game with a huge fanbase like very few games out there has a userscore of 6.8 as we speak ( to be fair ill give it a point more because of trolls , not that there arent many fanboys that voted 10/10 but its fair +1 imo )
And it was then that i questioned all those "lovers" as i did in 2012 with Diablo3 , a game that almost met AAA status back then also . The question was/is simple ... IF Overwatch was coming from another developer than Blizzard would so many million players care that much ? How many would even know it let alone buy it ? Would metacritic being that high ( same for diablo 3 ). Something inside me says a big NO !
So , personally , no i dont think Overwatch is a GOTY but that doesnt mean anything. Its my opinion and nothing more. Im just getting the feeling that if this game wasnt coming from blizzard even if it was exactly the same , wouldnt have been even in top 10 , let alone being the winner and everyone that read this aside fanatic blizzboys ( sadly there are many out there ) i bet they get what i mean.
*** I wont start a fight here with blizzboys , i wont even read your replies just to know . Because this is my opinion and wont change plus weve been in this debate before for too long ( some blizzboys didnt let go for weeks , literally ) so i dont want TCs thread to get ruined. Whoever wants to say something , PM me or make another thread and lets "fight" all you want.
