[QUOTE="Spartan070"]Man I thought people would be shocked to hear this from me. I guess there's simply more shocking stuff in the news lately.Subcritical

You are generally an Xbox fanboy aren't you?

If you keep saying how great Crysis is, Microsoft might buy the developer and ruin it by bringing it to the Xbox.

Nah, Crytek wouldn't do that. They didn't let EA but them out (thank god). They want to make their dream game, and they believe that to reach it's full potential, it's gotta be only on the PC. But I'm sure there will be some kind of spinoff way after the PC release.

This will probably get a tad lower then everyone is expecting, due to system requirements. Look at Oblivion, .4 lower then the X360 version. Also, look at SupCom.

they are lower then you think. According to Crytek, the game scales back over 3 years. Due, to new technology implemented in their engine.

IMO Crysis gameplay>>>Halo3 gameplay because of  M/K...

I just find autoaim and teh controller too dumbed down and casual...

It looks good but I don't think it will get AAA. Crysis is one of those "do everything the developer can think of" games like Supreme Commander, which generally become too complex for their own good or the features aren't fully thought/worked out. Also considering what it might take to actually run Crysis smoothly I don't see how you could rate a game AAA if most people can't even play it. I'll just wait for a 360 version.

Crysis is a game that comes along once in a blue that makes upgrading your pc worth it. I know halo 3 will be good but I can't see it beating crysis in anything but story at this point. I mean even the map editor for crysis looks insane!!!

OH no!:o

Halo 3 > Crysis

gameplay is more important than graphics.

And we really no nothing about gameplay in Halo 3 at this point (well, except shield grenades), so the distinction is pointless.

It's Bungie they won't let us down. Halo 3 will be great just like the first Halo.

Did you even play Halo 2? Halo was good but Halo 2 was a big let down.

Who said it wasn't? and what makes Crysis's gameplay inferior to Halo 3's gameplay? I know Halo is a proven series and that is why good gameplay is to be expected, but what makes you think Crysis will not be good in the gameplay department?

Bungie is the better developer. Crytek is good at making game engines. Yeah but your right we know little of either game to claim which one will have the better gameplay. I had to equal it out since the TC made the statement Crysis > Halo 3 in which I can only assume he was referring to graphics.

I don't know about Bungie being better dev. I would agree with that 6-7 years ago, but modern Bungie differs a lot from the glorious company who gave us Marathon and Myth. A lot of talent has left from Bungie. And at least Singleplayer-wise Far Cry was much better than Halo2.

It can run on 3 year old hardware.........

They had a 7800GTX running it maxxed in DX9 at 1024*768. They have a single 8800GTX running it maxxed in DX10. And the game hasn't even been optimized yet. You don't think this will get AAA? Why? Look at FarCry (the PC version, which is the only version Crytek made)? It got a 9.2 and GS stated it was the best singleplayer experiance since Half Life. Now, they have 150 devs working on it, and a MUUUUUUUUUUCH bigger budget. This is their dream game. Don't expect anything less than FarCry.

Gameplay IS more important than graphics.  Neither game is out, so all we can do is guess based off of any material strategically released by the developers.

But great graphics help immersion, and immersion helps to provide better gameplay.  So if Crysis' fundamentals are sound, then the game is going to be very necessary to play.

I personally think that people are dreaming if they think they can run this game on a computer that is over 3 years old.  Heck, I just spent about $1600.00 building a new machine with a core duo, 8800GTX, and 3 gigs of DDR2, and I'd bet my house I won't be able to play this game on max settings with reasonable perfomance.

Its the price of gaming on the edge.  We will see if Crysis is worth the price of admission (hardware upgrades).  I hope it is.  I love witnessing the evolution of gaming.  This is another reason why PC gaming is so important to the ENTIRE video gaming scene: Becuase it is dynamic, it pushes the envelope forward while consoles are static.

Your PC will easily run this game maxxed. They have it running maxxed on a lesser PC than yours at a high resolution. And the game isn't even optimized yet.........

Dude, that PC is CRAZY POWERFUL!! I think you'll be able to pwn Crysis even with DX10, just get Vista if you don't have it.

you will easily run that game maxed.... your computer is far stronger then the Crytek test computer, and that was running the full game, top settings, unoptimized, at almost twice the resolution of 1080p, and at 60FPS.

Crysis looks awesome. It just makes me cry thinking what kind of pc I need to run the game.Gilgamesh51

I realize there's no officially released system requires for that yet, but can anybody guess at what will be needed, even if just for med to slightly above med settings. Surely it won't require a gForce 8800 :?

from the "Unofficial" requirements, you deffinetly do not need a 8800, unless you want DX10.

I just hope this game doesnt get pushed back again. Im wondering kind of requirements your going to need once they do actually optimize it. Because look at HL2. That game is very optimized and almost all systems can run it and it still looks good. Yes I know its not crysis good but when that game came it out it looked amazing as does crysis now. Im not going to worry about hardware. Ill be making over a few grand this summer so I can put some of into upgrading my rig then put the rest into college fund or my savings fund. See Im smart. Im love gaming but I know when to draw line when spending a lot of money. Spartan Im glad that you actually see what all us hermits where talking about. Crysis is very promising. This isnt just youtr average FPS. Even the devs said that they are trying to make the best FPS and get everything right that other devs didnt. They also taken into considerations from the fans and what they liked and didnt like about farcry. I think this game will be worth it. I didnt even think STALKER was going to get a 8.5. I hope the trend continues and crysis gets a better score than I think it will.

In DX9 a 7600GT or 7800GT should do it. In DX10 a 8600 should be able to do it fine at above medium settings.

I have no plans to upgrade to Vista any time soon, so DX10 is a moot point for me. And just to clarify, here's my rig after a recent GPU upgrade:

2.66 GHz Intel Dual Core (not Core2 Duo)
2 GB DDR2 RAM
GeForce 7600 GS 256MB

* that is what I got to upgrade from the 128 MB integrated intel GPU. I don't wanna hear about how I should have gotten an 8800 or a 7950, my pockets don't run that deep :P

[QUOTE="Gilgamesh51"]Crysis looks awesome. It just makes me cry thinking what kind of pc I need to run the game.AdobeArtist

I realize there's no officially released system requires for that yet, but can anybody guess at what will be needed, even if just for med to slightly above med settings. Surely it won't require a gForce 8800 :?

from the "Unofficial" requirements, you deffinetly do not need a 8800, unless you want DX10.

That should run on medium, at the least.
