NVIDIA's Shield tablet has been leaked ahead of the July 22nd announcement.
Here's what we know:
What OS is this thing going to be running?
Android.
Entice me with games and a proper account system with trophies and all and I'll see.
Of course it has a proper account system, it's running Android.
lolTrophies (or Achievements, or any of that shit, really)
Damn, I want that Shield controller.
Its nice that the sticks are symetrical.... never understood asymetrical stick placement when your hands are symetrical. I hate using my 360 pc pad because of it, but DS3 tool is too much of a pain in the ass.
As for the tablet...does it use andriod? What games are for it? I am not going to stream pc games as the ones i usually play are complex strategy games that would be bad without keyboard /mouse. Oh and I already own a vita , 3ds and an Ipad mini. Wife would have a fit if I bought a 4th mobile gaming device..lol
damn, i dont have a intel pc (i have AMD) so i wont be able to take advantage of all the cool features (streaming etc) -__-

Well, I think both the Sony and Microsoft approach to controllers have their merits- I don't see why Sony insists on having the D-pad be in the position of the primary input on the controller, and I don't see why Microsoft goes for an asymmetric layout. Although to be honest, if I had to pick one, I would pick Microsoft's approach. (one of the reasons I am intrigued by the Wii U Pro is because it seems to be the perfect marriage of the Sony and Microsoft layouts).
As for this tablet, it is running Android (although I expect it will have the same kind of Steam intercompatibility that the original Nvidia Shield also had). It looks pretty cool, tbh, but like you, I own too many portable gaming devices to buy this as well :p
@NVIDIATI: Now I was wanting a gaming tablet. That's a reasonable price. But will that GPU be able to handle demanding games? Something tells me that GPU might not be that powerful. Would you say the tablet runs alongside the PS4's performance?

Normal android or some modified version like what the kindle fire is running? If it is the normal android like what is on other tablets/smartphones, then I am interested.

Normal Android, probably stock Android, actually.
Don't see the point in this. Where exactly would you use this ?
at home ? Better of gaming on a large TV screen instead of a tablet.
Outside ? Doesn't look that convenient to use
To stream a limited number of console ports from your home PC to a tablet screen, so you can play them with a controller.
Sounds like a good idea?

When there are TVs in home where I could stream too ? Not really =/
I'm sure this is a good alternative for some people. And I'm sure the 'shield' product line is doing well for some reason, because they keep making new products

How FUCKING dare you!! Just who do you think you are?
A non-tablet non-smartphone gamer ?
Lol. I'm joking (just incase you thought I wasn't)
Yeah, I assumed so :)
That or you had a sudden outburst of anger :P
Over mobile gaming lol.
Hey !
"Mobile gaming is serious business"
-Every game developer and publisher these days
mobile as no games to take advantage of it. Seems like a huge waste of money.
all those ponies with no room to Gallup
Bingo. I like mobile games but know there are 0 games out there that take advantage of even half of this hardware. It's a waste.
Sucks that it is only 1080p. Thought it would at least have a 2560x1600 resolution. Now I have a tough choice. Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 or this Shield? This has better performance, but I'd def like the huge resolution bump of the Pro 4.
I heard these rumors. I thought the original Shield was a decent design--compact and well built. Not sure how I feel about this tablet. Specs look great of course. I don't see a usb port, though. I wonder if that makes it difficult to sync dualshocks to the tablet, as that shield controller loooooooooooooooooooooookkkks......eh? Either way I think I'm buying it.
