No over heating problems in PS4 land..

We’ve been using a bunch of dev kits. They’ve been on almost all the time, sometimes even over night. They’ve always stayed cool, never even gotten warm so It has never suggested the threat of a problem. We have had n0 problems with any of the dev kits throughout development.

As far as I know, the specs and cooling of the current dev kits are the same as the final retail consoles, and I never saw one getting any hotter than a PS3 or a Xbox 360. Our consoles never had problems of that sort, and if you’re talking about that picture with the red line, I never saw something like that.

None of our devkits, either PS4 or Xbox One, had any overheating problems. We have so many and we use them so much that if there was any big issue we’d have probably noticed something, but no, they all worked and still work like a charm.

In addition to developers, I also contacted a few people that worked at the Sony booths at recent trade shows, Milan’s Games Week and the event in Paris that goes by the same name (both booths had a very high number of working consoles). I also managed to get in contact with someone that worked at the Battlefield 4 booth at the Paris Games Week, where 32 PS4 and 32 Xbox One units worked over time for almost a week.

They all were very clear in explaining that no console had any kind of overheating issue during the events, and trade show conditions are just as brutal than the development environment.

@mems_1224: Hardly, the article also mentions Xbox having no overheating problems, which as the past tells us is more important this time around.

We already know the PS4 doesn't overheat. What was the point of this thread? Only morons that don't grasp how things work were ever claiming the PS4 overheats. Close anything electronic up in a closed box that produces heat and it will overheat. That was the only time I heard anything about overheating and only morons were trying to press that one because again, they have no clue how things work.

Really sad to see this is what Lems have been reduced to. Its like no reason to even argue with them anymore. Nothing but obnoxious and obvioius denial and BS. Hilarious how Cows are seen as worse then Lems on this site. As for the 8th gen, good luck Lems, you're going to need it.

The real title of this topic is as follows: Next-gen consoles won't fucking overheat like previous gen consoles. Thank you Sony and MS.

Well since Lems have been out of ammo lately, they've been resorting to saying PS4 has overheating issues. X1 overheating is never mentioned on this site. If you've been on this site, you'll know why he said nothing about the X1.

Weren't the overheating concerns in regards to the retail units as opposed to dev kits?

Sony electronics have a very low failure rate as it is.

PS1 died in 2009 more than 13 years after getting it (laser died)

PS2 from 2002 still working fine

The Playstation 4 does have overheating problems. I trust my eyes more than so call sources from dualshockers.com. lol

Don't even try it, cows were straight on the reliability rumours from neogaf about X1 some of which were about overheating. 'uh ohhhh RROD all over again', that's why the lems jumped on the supposed 'red line of death' in the first place.

Lems speculate? Kind of like cows spreading rumors on NeoGaf about how the UI on the XB1 is a disaster? I'm glad Tom Warren quelled that idiocy.

The ONLY leg you have to stand on right now is the 1080p crap, even though the PS4 version of BF4 textures are heavily degraded and by next year most games will be 1080p on both consoles. A lack of exclusives, a terrible UI and network infrastructure, laggy servers and overheating problems make cows the biggest punching bag on SW right now.

Every rumour cows can get their hands on is somehow turned into fact here, yet when it's the other way around, it's not on.

Honestly.... at this point you have to believe every bad rumor spoken about the XBO is true.

On the other hand every desperate attempt lems had to try to knock down PS4 has been debunked promptly.
