All in the span of 6 months. Nintendo in the past half-year had produced more notable exclusives than the Xbox One in its lifetime. It also put out as many worthwhile exclusives as Sony does in a full year.

Sony had Death Stranding but we all know what happened to its exclusivity.

Yeah Nintendo won 2019 hands down, not even close when talking first party exclusives with microsoft and Sony, I havent bought an exclusive for my PlayStation since last year, which was Spiderman, ironically after I beat Spiderman (took about 2 weeks of very casual play, i traded it in towards smash bros.

Honestly i dont think sony or microsoft have had a year as good as nintendos 2019 this entire gen.

It also takes less resources and development time to remake a gameboy game or a side scrolling Mario title than it does to make something that’s open world fully 3D with mocap and voice acting

Nintendo is smoking the PS4 and Xbox in sales, but PS4 and Xbox are the consoles that have the games I prefer. I don't want:

But I did buy/am buying Gears 5, Death Stranding, Star Wars Fallen Jedi, Call of Duty Modern Warfare. So IME, Xbox and PS are steamrolling Nintendo.

@r-gamer: @subspecies: The Switch also smoked the PS4 in their 1st and 2nd year out. These excuses don’t work.

@Juub1990: When half your titles (including the best game on the system) are Wii U re releases then that helps.

And in terms if overall library it doesn't touch the PS4.

Yeah Nintendo has most definitely been pumping a lot of excellent games on the Switch and I’m expecting a lot more for the foreseeable future.

Also sure if we include multiplats the PS4 beats the Switch but why would you play them on a PS4? Exclusive wise the Switch is as good but with several years less on the market.

@Juub1990: Except most of the PS/Xbox remasters were not exclusives. Over half the Switch exclusives to this point were on the Wii U.

The funny thing is the PS4 is a valid platform to own as a single platform... the Switch is great as a secondary console.

When were they not? In terms of first party output they have always smoked both MS and Sony, quantity and quality wise.

The switch will always be a secondary console gamers will always choose another platform to get the better quality 3rd party. Next year is going to be very interesting to see what 3rd party support they get. Cyberpunk won't be able to run and I can see a few others that will struggle with devs pushing current gen hardware.

None of those games hold any interest for me. Haven't played a Mario game since 1992 and haven't had any interest in a Nintendo system since the Gamecube.

You can own a PS1 as a single platform if it ticks your fancy. Multiplats which is like 90% of its library, suck on PS4.

@Juub1990: I just prefer games like Forza, Red Dead, Skyrim and Battlefield. Nintendo has become a kiddie system to me. I'm just too old to care about jumping on mushrooms, vacuuming ghosts or catching Pokemon. Kind of like growing out of Chutes and Ladders.

Hilariously enough, Nintendo games tend to be much more challenging than the games you named.

It's hard to disagree. I'm not playing my Switch much at the moment, but it's the same for every system. Nintendo's first-party has been excellent this gen.

I disagree. Not many Nintendo games interest me. Mostly just Zelda and Mario 3D platformers. Even those have been disappointing of late. Whereas I enjoy most games from Sony and MS.

I have definitely distanced myself from Nintendo over the last decade or so. I did not buy any of the Wii consoles and I sold my Switch because there were no games that I wanted to play. The last Nintendo console that I enjoyed was Gamecube.

The multiplats on PS4 are far superior to the Switch. This weird obsession PC gamers have with the switch is odd to me. But when one platform has shit exclusives and the other has hardware about 10 years behind the competition I guess it's a prerequisite that you own both.

This is definitely its year. People aren't wrong that the PS4 is end of life, BUT it rarely had years with that much (exclusive) strength ever so...

Sony fannies sure are getting mad. If what I said weren't true, they wouldn't be mad.

I never look at Switch to be competing both PS4/Xbox One since the Switch is in a different league of it's own and even Nintendo isn't trying to compete with those two. Both PS4/Xbox One had hits & misses but the Xbox One had the most misses. With that said, we can't denied PS4 lifespan is almost over and it's still the only current-gen to hit 100 million.

All in all, the Switch has 2 things going for is:

1. Portable optional is the best feature it has going for.
2. Great exclusive games on it that are more fun attractive

PC/Switch is still the better combo, but it never hurts to at least have PS4.

I don't understand the hype of Switch. I have one and literally has been a paper weight for the last year. My kids play it...sometimes. They prefer playing games on PC in each office against each other instead of on the TV such as Mario Kart.

No Nintendo Switch Exclusive was on the Wii U.

I don't care that much about who is best, but I love that they are doing well BECAUSE they are releasing good games. That's the best reason you can have to be doing well.

How Nintendo keep switch relevant when the next gen hits is vital to keep the console alive for another 2-3 years. I don't see them releasing a pro version as I think there aim is to keep the switch as cheap as possible.

Sony and Microsoft are past this gen already. As if other Nintendo platforms didn't die out during the last period of their generation.

Nothing on that list has any interest to me and I own a Switch. I actually haven't even played it in nearly a year. With the way Nintendo decided to do VC and the fact that they think it is 2000 with the way they do online, I'll pass on anything they have to do. PC/PS4 is where I am these days.
