OK this isn't official gameplay. It's leaked alpha with bad quality and no sound but this is the best thing that you are going to get right now, so watch it.

It looks like, they weren't lying when they said that they are taking inspiration from Blood Money and building upon that. As I mentioned in my other thread that a lot of devs are going back to their roots. Is it finally the time to say goodbye to Cinematic Syndrome???

Cinematic? Huh?

My problem with Absolution wasn't that it was "cinematic".

My problem with that game was that they gave you a fucking fraction of the freedom that you had in past games in the series.

Same, i loved absolution but it was very limited compared to previous hitman games, it was also too easy to get through each Level .

Blood money was the best in my opinion followed by Hitman 2, it's a toss up between Hitman 47 and contracts for the worst hitman.

This games looks awesome. If it takes inspiration from Blood Money, I have high hopes for it then. Blood Money was a gem of a game. I should rebuy it again.. hmm.

Seeing through walls ability is one of the worst things to happen to game industry (right next to QTEs). In games like Deus Ex, I can understand but in games like Hitman? Unacceptable imo.

No way. Hitman 47 ruled. I love that clunky old game. Its like a great old B movie to me. I liked Absolution for a play through but like Contracts never gone back to it. Blood Money and Silent Assassin were my favorites.

YES.

As someone who adored Blood Money and is playing through Absolution right now, I have to say, Absolution is disappointing. It's not a bad game, but it's definitely not the sequel to Blood Money that we deserved. This gives me hope for the new game.

Yeah I didn't get the "super powered 47" thing. That was stupid. But I'll say this, we all may be happy that it looks to be going back to its more strategic roots but if it doesn't sell well it wont last this way. Businesses are going to go for the largest potential audience unfortunately. So let's hope they nail it with this Hitman and people buy it.

Yup,,, let's not screw this one up and buy the damn game if it is offering more strategy. But I think they are also experimenting with this title. They are going to release small DLCs and make the game bigger and bigger after release if it is successful initially. I think this business model was used to check the success of a strategic game in today's market (kinda like Resident Evil Revelations 2).

To be honest I enjoyed all the Hitman games, even those that people consider the worst (the first one and absolution)

Even Absolution had some great sandbox levels and true Hitman moments with lots of different points of entries and ways to go at an objective.

This new approach seems really special, and interesting. But I need to know if the game at release will be worth the price, or if they are going to release half a game now, and half in the year to come...

I don't believe Hitman games ever included co-op.

This is not the type of game to benefit from having co-op anyway.

Would be frustrating to set up this perfect murder, make everything look as an accident, meanwhile you are on your way to the exit in your perfect disguise, nobody having spotted you... Then your co-op buddy joins your game and starts shooting the place up.

@R4gn4r0k:

That can easily be fixed by disabling the Drop in Feature of Multiplayer Games.

And heres an idea.... how about including your partner in your plan so you can complete the perfect murder together.

The problem with people who think Co-Op doesn't work is they don't know how to break free from the Lone Wolf Mindset..... or maybe they just don't like it.... whether it actually does or doesn't work is actually about how its implemented. Not if its implemented.

Well, you need to realise Hitman is a lone wolf type of game. It's just that, ever since the start. You are a special kind of assassin, and you take people out. On your own, in your own way. It just wouldn't work in co-op mode. It would make absolutely zero sense gameplay or story wise.

Have you played any of the previous games ? Co-op simply doesn't fit heree. The last part of your post doesn't change anything. There are plenty of games where co-op fits, co-op is great or co-op improves the experience a lot compared to singleplayer even. I can think of plenty of games like that. Not Hitman.

Can you name me like 5 co-op stealth games ? Is there even a thing like a co-op stealth game ?

I love the series. Although the graphics at the time went from "great" to "vomit", I still loved the gameplay. I love the undercover aspect of wearing other clothes to blend in.

I still have a problem of how Agent 47 got a hard on every time he mentioned Father Vittorio. Weird.

Anyway here are the stealth Co-Op game I've played Splinter Cell Blacklist....

There are others, like Monaco, Splinter Cell Conviction and others I haven't play because its online co-op only.

Theres pretty much a Co-Op game for every genre.... except adventure games.

Edit: And yes I've played all the previous Hitman Games. ..

Mmhmm, they tried to pull a fast one on everyone at E3 and were like "all our dlc is free" instead of just saying "we're selling the game unfinished digitally in December, then you can buy the finished version next year".

Early access 60 dollar games is hoetry, especially from triple A publishers.

But the co-op modes in Splinter Cell are different from the singleplayer campaign. There is no one there besides Sam Fisher in singleplayer. It would just be weird to just have "Frank Fisher" suddenly join the game as well and sneak alongside his brother.

That's what I'm saying: for me it would be totally weird to have another Agent or an Agent 47 clone running around with me. (Having 2 Arno's in AC co-op is weird too, but I can stomach that). Also, story wise and I could be wrong here because it has been a while, but isn't Agent 47 the last one of the clones or anything ?

Right, so you have played Hitman. Tell me how you could see this work. How do you envision a co-op mode ? A seperate one from the SP like Splinter Cell ? A drop-in system or not ? I'm interested to hear :)

Yet we don't know how much content will be in the game on launch.

IF they end up selling half a game for full price, you're right.

As for right now, it's too early to judge

I have a feeling the game won't be shipped with a lot of content. For them to cut off season pass like that, and push the "free" stuff? No. Splatoon pulled the same shit.

They were very adamant about dropping in a mission or two every now and then, through daily challenges and all that. I doubt this game will be as complete as previous entries.

Ahem assuming you're feeling lazy and don't want to sit through what was talked about, here is what is basically said:

- The extra content and missions are obviously free.

- The game will be digital only when it`s released in December. Still $60.

- The game will be released in bits and pieces throughout 2016.

- No disc release until the game is "done".

Which in English language translates into we're charging you 60 bucks for an early access game digitally, and we're calling finishing the game "Free dlc".

I'm sure someone will say "well you can just wait till retail"...that's really not the point. It's a triple A pub/dev making an early access game, **** that shit.

Wait.. wait.. No disc release until they're "done"? Not to sound like a "muh physical" person, but what's up with that? Like hell, I'm paying for digital when I can get it for the same price physical. That's worse than Splatoon.

Gross.
