Looks cool but The Forest excites me more . It does all of this stuff and more , in much better way and it is Single Player game . Yes there are no zombies in that game (instead you have cannibals) but genre is similar (Survival/Horror) .
Out of all of the big multiplayer/survival games out there, H1Z1 has the most potential due to being developed by a very seasoned team with mature tech.

The Forest did seem good, until I saw a couple of lets play videos and it looked really unpolished and boring.

Because that's Alpha version 0.01 . Not even Alpha 0.1 . Let alone Final 1.0 build . You can clearly see the potential and the game will add more features & will be polished as we progress to final release .
This is a genre which is finally fulfilling it's potential thanks to better tech. The freedom you have means you can really imprint your own survival on the game.
Looks pretty bareboned compared to DayZ, in addition to a cheapish F2P vibe going on (bad gfx), but I suppose they're not going for the exact same niche as DayZ. Currently have no desire to play it, but it should be interesting, that's for sure.
Wow, this is the type of zombie game that I've been waiting for! I guess I was wrong about PS4 not having any games worth playing in 2014; I might have to pick up a PS4 earlier than I expected to for this game.

It shouldn't be. Thus far all the sandbox zombie survival games have been developed by small studios who simply don't have the resources for extensive QA or fast development.
H1Z1 is being made by a developer both experienced with MMO and sandbox, funded by Sony. Bohemia Interactive is small fry in comparison in terms of size and backing.

Yes. But it's a double edged sword. They cant really go for niche and hardcore audience. With such huge resources the game will have to be rounded around the corners for more mainstream appeal.
Zombie games are getting old fast. This game also looks bad for something that is being released by a veteran team. I am usually not someone who brings up graphics alot, but this looks last gen all day long.
I gotta say, Gamespot's E3 coverage has been top notch.
H1Z1 looks great, definitely improves on the fundamentals of DayZ but Day Z has really solid gun play. Hopefully this is just as good. I haven't played planet side 3 yet, but i'm guessing gun play is going to be pretty similar.
Lol the gunplay in Day Z is the one thing that isn't solid. Rust has solid gunplay. DayZ has nice bullet drop but thats about it. Heck even Frankie would tell you that the gunplay in DayZ is not solid lol

H1Z1 is coming to PC first, and it's not even in early access alpha on Steam yet. It's going to be a long, long time before the PC release, let alone consoles. Sorry dude. I would be surprised if H1Z1even gets a full PC release by the end of 2015.
