Are you cool with namco bandai? Or would you of prefered a developer who is synonymous with fighting games like Capcom? I still wonder why Nintendo didnt go to capcom >_> we could of been Hadoukening and Falcon punching in the same screen!

With the way Capcom is now, I'd prefer if they weren't included in anything.

Bamco has Klonoa, Tales, SoulCalibur, Xenosaga and other franchises that could mesh well with the SSB roster.

Excluding Devil May Cry and Megaman, what exactly does Capcom have to offer? Street Fighter characters would seem pretty awkward in SSB IMO.

Pretty happy with Namcokhoofia_pika
Also Nintendo has more experience working with Namco Bandai [Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 and 2; Star Fox Assault; Mario Baseball series; they purchase Monolith Soft from Namco Bandai and Monolith Soft still works with Namco Bandai on some games; Namco put Link in Soul Calibur] so I'm ok with Namco Bandai working on Super Smash Bros. Masahiro Sakurai is still in charge and their are other collaborators in Super Smash Bros. that we wont know about until it releases.

Yeah, but they need Toriyama and Kishimoto's green light for that still.

Besides, Namco Bandai doesn't have the Naruto license for Nintendo consoles, they do Sony consoles.

Smash Bros is a 2D fighter. Capcom is one of the best, if not the best 2D fighter developer. I might be wrong, but Namco has never made a 2D fighter and if they have, it's been like 15+ years and it made little to no positive impact on the fighting world. You're asking who do I want: 1) People great at the genre or 2) people with no experience or a terrible track record in the genre. Pretty easy answer imo.

Okay, first of all, Capcom may release a good game every once in awhile, but seriously? They brought that whole day one DLC debacle into the videogame business, and they're so large now that they don't concentrate on their games nearly as much as they used to. Seriously, what games have they made since Street Fighter 2 that have "revolutionized" anything? Atleast Soul Calibur was and still is the best Arcade Fighter available on the consoles. Oh yeah, and there's a difference between a furry critter and a spiky haired d-bag with purple hair.

Yeah pretty much. I'm still steamed about this "collaboration" with Namco/Bandai. Capcom has important experience with not only the core fighting game concepts, but with online functions and connectivity. I'll take that over pretty much anything that Nam/Ban could possibly offer.

If a bunch of stupid licensed BS anime characters get into the next Smash Bros., I will not be buying it. I bought my Wii for Smash Bros., but if the next one that comes out is garbage, I will not be buying it or the next Nintendo console.

Did you guys forget that Namco did a Smash Bros. right off in 2006 for the PS2 and Gamecube called Battle Stadium D.O.N.

It was Smash Bro but with characters from Dragonball Z, One Peice, and Naruto.

Clockwerk should team up with Bowser.

I think it is a good Idea Nintendo and Sony have the best first party titles in the industry IMO. Sony is getting better still not as good as Nintendo but they are getting better.

Some Sony villains are

Radec (Killzone)
Clockwerk (Sly Cooper 1; Sly 2 had Clock-La; Sly 3 had Doctor M)
Kessler (inFAMOUS)

i just don't think most sony franchises work on that wacky, cartoony scenario. sure you got sly and ratchet, you could get jak if you wanna stretch, but then you reach the realm of those games that just don't work, like uncharted, god of war, killzone and the like. it would be like having a generic dark souls playable character on the next smash bros. it just doesn't work like that.

I am indifferent with both actually. :? I just hope that Namco can help with the 3DS/Wii U connectivity. I will say that Capcom has partnered with Nintendo in the past and have made some splendid Zelda games and incorporated connectivity between the games.

Street Fighter 4 was pretty great and is responsible for bring fighting games back. You may hate their 2D fighters and think SF4 is a crap game, but you have like the polar opposite of opinion of most who enjoy fighting games. In the time between Street Fighter 3 and 4, Namco ran their series into the ground in fell off. They had the whole fighting genre to themselves during that time and cranked out meh to crap titles. Capcom comes back and instantly claims the throne away.

Who do I want, the guys making great 2D fighters making a 2D fighters or guys with little to no experience in 2D fighters who made a bunch of mediocre 3D fighter for the past decade or so trying to make a 2D fighter? I rather locked DLC in a good game than unlocked content in a mediocre one. A mediocre game is one I'm not interested in no matter how much unlocked content is there. It should also be mentioned that what... 1 out of like 300 Capcom games have had locked content? Let's not spin like it's actually 299/300.

As for the last part, someone said anime characters would ruin Smash Bros. Anime characters have been in it since day one. What is the difference between an anime character and an anime character? Do the like 500+ Pokemon anime episodes and like 8+ anime movies somehow not count as anime? Does Pikachu's few hundred hours of anime appearances not count?
