Myth Busted! Resistance only has one type of enemy! (56k pwnage)

Yes people, as amazing as it may seem there is more than just 1 type of Chimera in Resistance Fall of Man. SO let me educate you!

Menial:

"The Menial strain is bred to be a tool for basic labor. They are unarmed and appear sluggish and non aggressive."

Hybrid:

"Hybrids are the foot soldiers of the Chimeran army. They are a savage enemy but also keen and tenacious. Hybrids quickly learn the methods of their adversaries. They already display expertise in British Army Tactics."

*These are the ones that every talks about when they talk about Chimera like they are the only ones that exist in the game.*

Leaper:

"Crawlers which fail to infect a host will eventually evolve into Leapers. The vacarious Leapers attack opponents with teeth and claws."

Widowmaker:

"The appearance of Widowmakers on the battlefield requires immediate engagement by all soldiers. Widowmakers attack with their barbed fore-talons or by spewing explosive globules. In addition to causing tremendous casualties, Widowmakers have a rallying effect on other Chimeran strains, they've been known to irreversebly turn the tide of battle."

Steelhead:

"Clever calculating and extremely powerful, Steelheads are a superior variant of the hybrid strain."7.

Titan:

"The Titan Strain represents the limit of Chimeran evolution of the human form. They are massively strong and ield weapons more commonly found on vehicles such as stalker heavy seige pods."

Carrier:

"Carriers collect infected humans from the battlefield after a Crawler attack. They ferry their catch to the nearest conversion center."

Slipskull:

"Slipskulls are cunning opportunists who prefer to take pot-shots and make blind-siding attacks rather than face their opponent. With their speed and stealth, they excel as ambushers.

Gray Jack:

"Gray Jacks are decrepit Hybrids which have nearly outgrown their bodies. Though unarmed and seemingly frail, the long reach of their wicked claws can be deadly. The wounds they cause are very difficult to clean and often fatal."

Howler:

Howlers are a large quadruped of Chimera. Their rudimentary vocolizations are believed to provide the beasts with some level of communication. Howlers have a leathery hide that shrugs off most light-arms fire."

whenever there is a "X alien vs Chimera" thread, everyone says "Chimera are so weak and scrawny" because they are all refereing to the Hybrid when infact there are many strains of the virus.

when u think about it, humans all have the same face. Its just that we are the same species so its much easier for us to see small differences. Think about animals such as buffalos, unless they have big differences like fur color or drastic differences in size, they all look the same. So i guess to the chimera, they look different to each other, but to use they look the same. Chimera are more genetically accurate :P

In reality, other than skin color humans look very similar, much like unless dogs are a different breed they all look the same. Even when humans/dogs look the same, they share similar features. much like the chimera. They share similar features but are different in wasy that we think are subtle. To an alien species, it would be very hard for them to discern any major differences between humans, but we can discern them because we are around other humans 24/7 so little differences that no other species can notice are noticable to us.

Yeah, well after the thread yesterday about Locust v. Chimera. A lot of ppl made it seem that there was only 1 type of Chimera through the whole game and assumed so in their arguments. So this is just to show that hey there is more then 1 type of enemy in the game.

Im assuming this is a taking a hit at Resistance's aliens. If so, i dont understand what the problem is. The Chimera are a single species so the differences between them should be very small, much like there are very little differences between people. Sure you can have they could have just made 20 random completely different looking aliens for their game, but that would destroy the whole concept of it being an alien invasion from 1 type of alien. If they all looked different, how would anyone be able to tell that they are the same species. As human beings, we use classifications to make communication easier. Humans are classified as Humans because they share many similar features. So how would we classify Chimeras if they shared no traits in common? that would destroy the whoe concept of the Chimera being the same species.
