http://www.nextpowerup.com/news/21347/new-xbox-one-wireless-controller-leaked-via-xbox-support-page-expected-at-e3-2015/

Microsoft is apparently preparing to launch a redesigned Xbox One "pro" controller at its E3 press conference, aimed at the "Core" market, thats better suited for shooters and racers. One of the confirmed changes so far is the addition of a 3.5mm headohone jack ala the Dualshock 4. We dont know yet about any other changes such as whether the controller still uses AA batteries, or its new form factor.

This coincides with earlier rumors from a few months ago:

My predictions:

It will have a Share and Option button, a touch pad in the center and it will have "shock" somewhere in the name.

News like this actually impresses me, that MS is not only conscientious that there are additions that would improve their hardware, but that they also aren't afraid of straying from what the industry has traditionally done by keeping hardware canonical. Granted it's probably not cheap, but I imagine MS is betting enough people will buy the stock they requisition to validate the new model.

So they spent 100 million to make the xbone controller better than the 360 wich had a headphone jack, and now they put the feature back?

A 180 again , or a 360?

Lets hope they figured out how to put a rechargeable battery in the controller

I'd love if there was some kind of a multi-task button on the new controller, though, but I guess that'd fragment the install base too much.

From what i seen, it'll still have another port next to the jack. personally i like the adapter, it's much easier to adjust volume on the controller and mute then it is on the headset itself like the wireless PS4 headset I have. Also I hope there isn't a built in battery, If there is i won't buy. pain in the butt, nothing is worse then having to plug in a wireless controller while playing, defeats the whole purpose. I remember when MS did this for the original xbox and made the controller S. That gen had such shitty controllers. the PS2, gamecube and OG xbox all had shit controllers until the controller S showed up. The black and white buttons were dumb though, glad they killed that off

If they launched this alongside a wireless adapter for PC that'd be kinda nice.

They have to be wired to work on pc?

Maybe win10 will add that feature with all xbox controllers

That's pretty cool actually. This is one of things i miss the most while peasant gaming. There's no controller variety while there's thousands upon thousands of quality keyboards/mices to chose from. I would instantly buy a redesigned DS4 with the analogues placed the same way they're on 360/xbone.

Why don't Microsoft make a bluetooth driver for the Xbox One and just use the Dualshock 4... :).

17 bucks, best rechargeable on the market i get about 15 hours game time including powering my headset. They charge overnight so i always have a fresh pair ready and I've had the same ones for the past 4 years since last gen (used them on my 360 as well) if they start going bad, I just buy a new set, not a whole controller. I don't like the plug and play kit either, this is the best option for controllers period. never have to plug in my controller, built in battery on a wireless controller = not always wireless. and when you have kids and pets, running a wire 8-10 feet away to your couch is just bad.

I was hoping they would be coming out with a wireless mic soon. I really like the current controller so I'll need to wait for more info on this new one before I form an opinion.

well i see you have it all set.

i have the 360 recharge packs and the problem i have is that the cable jack has worn it self out and now charging a controller i have to hang the cotroller over my coffe table to charge.

and because im stupid and trew away the AA batery holsters i have do this.

I dunno really, I don't own the console yet. But with a good pair of rechargeables I get 30-40 hours out of the 360 controller and i've heard it's similar on xbox one.

Its similar because its the AAs and the controller doesnt have a constant light/ps4/ or a screen /wiiu/ so there is no change in the life of the batery

It would be nice for triggers and bumpers similar to the 360, I'd be pretty happy. I hope they keep the double AAs, they aren't as bad as you think it is. I prefer it rather than a built in rechargeable that way I can just swap out them out.

One of the confirmed changes so far is the addition of a 3.5mm headohone jack

Amen to that.

This is what really grinds my gears about you cows, instead of acknowledging problems and pursuing they be fixed, you try to turn it around and blame it on the users and tell them what they should be doing. Do you even understand why Microsoft is updating their controller? They're bettering the design based upon user feedback, complaints, wants and needs, that of which can only be gotten by the user base actually acknowledging issues and bringing them up. It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if the bumpers on the updated version of the controller were altered due to the negative feedback the original ones have received.

PS4 has a much smaller aaa-aa library than PC this gen. Try to out last dat' Drought. I'm sure you'll eventually get more PC games in between those 20 fps on low multiplats.

He's still waiting on red dead redemption, don't mind him. poor little fella.

PS4 has a much smaller aaa-aa library than PC this gen. Try to out last dat' Drought. I'm sure you'll eventually get more PC games in between those 20 fps on low multiplats.

Do you even have a gaming PC? or play games?

I'd like to the know how a headphone port being added makes it a Pro controller.

I still laugh at MS that Xbone controllers require AA's or 3rd party battery packs because they are too lazy to know what built-in rechargables are.

So they spent 100 million to make the xbone controller better than the 360 wich had a headphone jack, and now they put the feature back?

A 180 again , or a 360?

Lets hope they figured out how to put a rechargeable battery in the controller

So you want to stop the game and run to the store to get AA batteries?

or you will buy a truck load of batteries?

I bought 8 AA recharagble batteries for 12 bucks. A charger for 8 bucks. I always had four batterys full. It is way better than playing with a cable on my dualshock 4.

Hell, why can't people think a little bit before they post?
