I thought it was pretty realistic, only takes about two bullets to be killed, and is more slowly and realisticly paced than the average fps.

I see the point you raise, tbh quick deaths aren't exactly a reflection on realism (mind you recharging health does undermine this). While the difficulty levels are increased, and the pace is certainly slower than shooters like COD4, its not a realistic representation of counter terroism, even combat and tactics - and yea - taking 'damage'.Sure its more 'realistic' - so to speak - than a game like COD4, but its not a realistic game in its own right. A good comparison is Vegas to Rainbow Six Raven Shield (the last of the 'authentic' Rainbow Six games).
The two are different in a massive variety of ways, however nonetheless, Vegas is still a good game, in its own right despite its lack of complexity, depth and yep - realism, to its predecessor.
Than what would it need to make it realistic? The gunplay in rainbow six vegas acts similar to real life, I thought that was what realistic was.

Nah, Vegas is much more akin to an action movie. Its quite cinematic, and follows the cover shooter 'stop and pop' design. Realistically in a counter terrorist operation - information and planning, speed and precision in execution are fundamental.
