Im not really liking the box cover tho.... its ok, but doesnt have that MGS feel to it. and the weird V on the middle gets annoying the more I look at it.
Yeah, the PC delay does suck. But waiting two weeks for a game that will look and perform substantially better? Yeah, that's not such a bad deal haha. The draw distance alone is a game changer. Considering how poorly the PS4 version (best console version) handled this aspect in a confined base, how do you think that's going to translate to the huge sprawling environments of TPP?

Means zilch. GTA San Andreas sold nearly 30 million on PS2. And like 5 million on every other platform. And get this.. it was technically the worst version!

What I do care about is playing what is by far the best version of the game I've been looking forward to for so long.

Nah I guess my fanboy was showing a bit. Or my distaste for the PC community. I am getting the PS4 version because of the same reason I got games for my PS1 and 2 over the PC version. I just like playing games on a console. I dunno man, a weird voodoo spell been cast on me perhaps. My point is, I didn't dream of having the superior PC version of GTA SA back in 2005. The PS2 version was legit enough for me. I guess I'm just going to miss the days when consoles ruled the waves and everything had an identity.
Seeing gamers like yourself who were once avid console gamers move away from console gaming seems like the end of an era and it troubles me somewhat. PC gaming, while objectively better, misses something for me. I'm being retardedly nostalgic right now but I miss memory cards even. Game cases with memory card slots, 2/4 player multiplayer/co-op. Bliss. I like Xbox, but in many ways, it killed console gaming by merging it with PC too much. Sony had no choice but to follow suit. So I'll always be slightly bitter towards Xbox and MS for that. Not that I hate Xbox consoles or anything because I think the 360 was fantastic mostly.
It's just that, everywhere I look, everything is merging together and it's boring.. And I've relized that every time I conversate with you I sound like a whiney jaded prick lol. I'm not, seriously, it's just that I miss the age of consoles.
Nah man, trust me I can definitely relate. PC has always been there for me in one way or another, but it was usually a side show while consoles were the main attraction. I never cared about PCs pushing better specs, I simply preferred console franchises and the overall console experience. Even last gen when it was clear where things were going, I still just couldn't make the jump full on. When consoles have been your primary for two decades or more, it's tough to just let it go.
I do miss it all. Not only were consoles and PCs completely different beasts, but even the consoles themselves differed so much from one another. Everything had its own flavor, its own slew of good reasons for going out and buying that extra box. It went far beyond just having a tiny handful of exclusives here and there... man I'm a sucker for nostalgia too haha. I find myself revisiting these old consoles and games all the time because of it.
But, you're right. It's all merging together. Almost all the games I care to play are showing up on PC and in better form. PC gaming has also become so convenient. I hear lots of horror stories, but from my experience it's just as plug n play as consoles are now. I turn on my tv, boot up the PC, sit back with my PS4 controller and I'm ready to go.
I may not like how bland the gaming landscape has become as far as platform identity goes, but with everything merging together I might as well get the best bang for my buck. PC just happens to be it.

I'll probably get the CE for PS4 and pick up the PC version on sale. Does the CE really not include a soundtrack, though?
I guess if you're a hardcore MGS fan, i don't blame you. Personally, even for something like The Witcher 3, 2 weeks seems fine to me. I'm sure most pc gamers will wait, but i can see a few going for the console version anyway.
Atleast, in the end, when you come back for the pc version, there'll be plenty of mods. :)

digital downloads are killing the need for boxart and manuals.
I used to read through game manuals like they were books and the back of the box warranted my purchase or not. Oh well, sacrifices must be made for improvement.

I might cap my framerate to 30 fps and wrap some black tape around my monitor( to simulate black bars) to get the full cinematic experience. Haven't decided yet though.

don't forget to lower the resolution, 900p for semi cinematic, 720p for full cinematic

Big Boss just looks really cool.
It's not bad, but MGS covers used to look so much cooler. It makes sense though, a cover like this is easy to read and stands out. I'm just tired of these in-yo-face CG renders. I'm sure the cover will be reversible with Shinkawa art though, so no biggie.
